The Lux Estate is the middle memory foam mattress model in the Ultra Luxury Collection by Christeli, a bedding manufacturer in Greenville, South Carolina. Unlike previous models under the Christeli brand, with the Ortho Core polyurethane support foam, Lux Estate and Palais Grand Royale have latex support cores.
As the other Ultra Luxury models, Lux Estate has a cashmere fabric cover quilted with Cool Tufting fibers. Cashmere is technically temperature neutral. It can keep the sleeper warm when the room temperature is cold. It is also breathable, and the Cool Tufting fibers quilted to it are airy, letting air flow through for cooling when the room is warm. So far, this approach is used by several manufacturers because it works.
The comfort layers of the Lux Estate are both in the European box top. Rather than being sewn or laced onto the mattress, this box top is fastened to the support section by the handles. These handles can be unfastened and the box top removed. Then the support core can be flipped to change the firmness level.
The comfort layers in the Lux Estate are Christeli's Super Cool Memory Foam. The top memory foam layer has a 6-lb density, while that of the lower layer is 5.3 lbs. The heavier top layer is to make the contouring more exact, while the slightly lighter memory foam below is for plushness. Both memory foam layers are ventilated for freshness and cooling.
The support core is 100% natural latex foam. Latex is known for its resilience (remember that this is otherwise called rubber) and support. Besides its supportiveness, latex is also anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. It is also hypoallergenic, since the allegenic proteins are washed out at the end of the curing process.
The support core of the Lux Estate is girded by support foam. This, Christeli's Better Edge, protects the latex support foam with its perimeter support. It also provides edge support for the sleeping surface. It is described by the company as adding 25% to the usable surface area.
The Lux Estate can be used on a foundation with a flat, firm surface. Qualifying for this is the steel Christeli Foundation. Also available through Christeli are three adjustable beds: the Ergomatic 5000, Ergomatic 4000, and the Ergomatic 1000. Lux Estate is also compatible with other qualifying foundations, such as European wood slats (with less than 4" between slats) and platforms. Some box springs may qualify, but points of support need to be close enough together.
