Coil Mattress Collection

There are three innerspring mattresses in the Coil Mattress Collection by Signature Sleep: Essential 6, Contour 8 and Signature 13. Each of these models has an innerspring support core with foam comfort layers. All are firm models, although some of the retailers' descriptions vary.

The 7" coils in the Contour 8 and 9.8" coils in Signature 13 are described by Signature Sleep as independently encased coil springs, while the 5" high innerspring used in the Essential 6 are Bonnell Coils. The coils are flexible enough for the mattress to be compressed, rolled up and wrapped for shipping. The coils in the Essential 6 are 13.5 gauge, and those in the Contour 8 15 gauge. The Signature 13 has both gauges, 15 ga. around the edge and 13.5 ga. in the middle.

In each Coil Collection mattress the coils are covered top and bottom with polyester insulator pads. These protect the coils and smooth out the feel of the individual coils.

Each Signature Sleep Coil Mattress Collection model uses foam padding to soften the feel of the mattress. In Essential 6 and Contour 8 this is 1¼-lb. density foam, while the Signature 13 has foam in 3 zones with higher ILD material around the perimeter for edge support. The Signature also has a pillow top filled with memory foam.

Two different fabrics are found in the quilted cover of Coil Collection mattresses. The Essential 6 and Contour 8 have polyester-cotton jacquard quilted with 12 ILD foam and fire retardant material. The Signature 13 is covered with bamboo-derived rayon fabric quilted with 18 ILD foam.

The Coil Mattress Collection from Signature Sleep is available online through several retailers. Some of these are Sears/Kmart, Walmart, Target and Amazon. Essentials 6 and Contour 8 are made in Twin, Full, Queen, and King, while Signature 13 comes only in Full and Queen. Not all retailers carry all sizes for each model. The most easily found sizes are Twin and Full. If you don't find Queen or King on one retailer's site, check with other sellers.

Unlike mattresses in the Memory Foam Collection, which are made in China (at least the foam is), mattresses in the Coil Collection are made in the U.S.A. All carry the Signature Sleep 1-year limited warranty.
