ComforPedic Advanced Rest Mattress
The
ComforPedic Advanced Rest Mattress is a model in the
Simmons Beautyrest ComforPedic line of
memory foam mattresses. Several retailers use the name
Alive Luxury Firm for those sold online, retaining the
Advanced Rest name for those sold in the store.
Advanced Rest features
ComforPedic design features. These include
AirCool Design,
TruTemp Technology, and
Independent Support technology.
AirCool Design
AirCool Design consists of three features:
AirCool Memory Foam,
AirCool Edge, and
AirCool Mesh Border Fabric. The
AirCool Memory Foam is engineered to relieve pressure points. It is also ventilated to allow air flow for cooling and freshness.
AirCool Edge is foam encasement edge support. It is horizontally ventilated so air from the top can flow out of the mattress. The
AirCool Mesh Border Fabric is just outside the
AirCool Edge. The mesh enables the vents to work as designed, cooling the mattress.
TruTemp Technology
The key to
TruTemp Technology is
GelTouch which is infused into the
AirCool memory foam. These gel beads are more than just
gel. They utlilize phase change technology to keep temperatures within a designed range by absorbing heat when too warm and releasing heat when too cool.
Independent Support Technology
The surface of the
Independent Support Foam reminds one of a pocket coil array. This is no coincidence. The raised cylinder heads in the
foam respond similarly to
pocket coils (though perhaps not to the same degree), each raised portion separately from the others. This contours the support to the weight and curves of the sleeper's body. Also, when there are two sleepers, this dampens motion transfer to lessen sleep disturbance when one sleeper moves.
Comfort
The
Advanced Rest/
Alive has a Luxury Firm comfort level, 4 on a scale of 10 (where 1 is firmest and 10 is plushest). This firmness, moderated by the conforming memory foam, is designed to align the spine.
The comfort section of the
Advanced Rest has four layers: 1" each of
AirCool Memory Foam with
TruTemp Gel and firm high-density
Comfort Foam, and 2" each of
Advanced AirCool Memory Foam and
Independent Support Foam.
Support
The 3½" support core of the
Advanced Rest/
Alive Luxury Firm mattress is the
AirCool Transflexion Core Base. This is high-resiliency support foam.
Foundation
The recommended
foundation for the
Advanced Rest is
Simmons's
Triton Foundation. Called by some retailers a "box spring," this is really a solid
platform upholstered with suede fabric. The
Advanced Rest/
Alive is also compatible with
adjustable beds.
Warranty
Advanced Rest carries a 25-Year limited manufacturer's warranty. It is available through several retailers, in stores and online.
