Comforpedic Exclusive Comfort
Exclusive Comfort, called
Restored Comfort by some retailers, is a 13" high model of
Comforpedic, the
memory foam mattress line under the
Beautyrest brand by
Simmons.
Comforpedic uses what
Simmons Beautyrest calls "The Better Memory Foam." They claim that this does not have "a sinking hard-to-move sensation" and excess heat, but is more resilient (therefore more responsive) and heat dissipating. Not all proprietary details are disclosed, but they include the formulation and structure of this
memory foam they label
AirCool, a key component of the
Beautyrest AirCool®
Design.
The
Exclusive Comfort/Restored Comfort has a removavble/washable zippered cover with fire retardant fibers quilted with 1½" of
AirCool®
Memory Foam with
GelTouch. The
GelTouch is a gel-infusion which includes phase change materials (PCMs) to regulate the temperature of the sleeping surface. When the temperature rises above the designed range, PCMs liquify by absorbing heat. When it falls below the range, liquified PCMs solidify by releasing heat. This cover is also breathable, allowing air to flow through it for further cooling.
The 3-layer comfort section adds another 2" of
AirCool Memory Foam with
GelTouch, then 1" each of luxury firm
Comfort Foam and 4½-lb.
Advanced AirCool Memory Foam.
Exclusive Comfort/Restored Comfort comes from the 7" AirCool Transflexion Core. This is the thickest Comforpedic support core. Transflextion is high density, high resiliency foam which is pre-compressed. Compressing the foam before assembling the mattress means that it will return to the level it was when purchased. This means that what the customer feels the first time the mattress is used is what is felt later on. The support core is topped by a 2" Multi Action Support Layer which moderates the support of the core. This is supported around the perimeter by the AirCool Edge Support, which is ventilated to allow that air flowing through the mattress to flow through the sides.
Exclusive Comfort carries a 25-year 15/10 warranty. The first 15 years are non-prorated, while the last 10 years are prorated. This model is available through several retailers, in stores and online. Many of these retailers have an alternative name, Restored Comfort, for online sales.
