Magniflex Comfort Dual 10
Comfort Dual 10 is a 10" model in the
Dolce Vita Collection of
memory foam mattresses by
Magniflex, a manufacturer of globally-marked
mattresses based in Italy.
Magniflex released their redesigned mattresses in mid-2014, and this model is an updated version of the
Duoform XM 10 Mattress.
As a
Dual Core mattress, users can choose a firmness level of Firm or Medium Firm by which side of the
Dual Core support unit is up. The support core has two layers: 6½" of
Elioform and 2" of
Memoform. The comfort level is firmer with the
Elioform side up, plusher with
Memoform up.
Elioform is the firm version of
Magniform,
Magnifex's support form with a highly dense microcellular structure.
Magniflex claims that it is also breathable.
Memoform is
memory foam by
Magniflex. It is described as "anatomical," which means that it conforms to the contours (anatomy) of the sleeper's body. Doing so means that the entire length and width of the body is supported, not just the portions which stick out the most. This is to relieve pressure on the prominent parts. It also does not distort the spine, no matter what the sleeping position.
Magniflex claims that
Memofoam adjusts to changes in position more quickly than traditional memory foam (several manufacturers now have memory foams with that claim), which lets the user move more easily.
Above the
Dual Core is a layer of "super soft" fiber. This provides cushioning, and is a transition from the support core to the quilted cover. This fiber is also hypoallergenic.
The
cover of the
Magniflex Doce Vita Comfort Dual 10 has two fabrics. One is
Outlast, developed by NASA for astronauts' space suits. It uses embedded
PCMs (Phase Change Materials) to keep temperatures within a designated range.
PCMs control temperature by changing their physical state from solid to liquid and vise versa.
The other fabric is
viscose (rayon) with woven-in silver threads. Viscose is durable with a silky texture. Silver is anti-static: it keeps electric charges from building up. It also inhibits the growth of fungi and bacteria. The cover fabrics are quilted with an inch of
Memoform.
The preferred
foundation is a
platform or a
European-style wood slat base. These provide the full support required for
memory foam mattresses. An
adjustable bed may be compatible, but the manufacturer and retailers are silent on this, so the customer should first ask about this.
The
Comfort Dual 10 is warrantied by
Magniflex for 20 years. It is available through several retailers in North America.
