ComfortAire Clear Comfort cc1000
The middle series of ComfortAire mattresses is the Clear Comfort Series with two models, the cc800 and the cc1000. According to ComfortAire, the cc1000 offers "out of this world fabric, out of this world comfort." ComfortAire describes the features of the Clear Comfort cc1000 as follows:
• Outlast® fabric cover, developed by NASA, is able to absorb, store and release latent heat
• 4-inch edge-to-edge visco memory foam topper
• 6-inch air chambers with under chamber support pad
• Dual zipper box top construction
• Perimeter foam support with fabric covers
• Whisperflo® 6200 double diaphram digital control system
Outlast is a Phase Change Material (PCM), developed under contract for NASA and produced and licensed by Outlast Technology. It was developed to control temperatures in spacesuits. ComfortAire uses it for this purpose (temperature control) in some of their mattresses, including the Clear Comfort cc1000.
The visco memory foam in the topper of the ComfortAire Clear Comfort cc1000 conforms to the contours of the sleeper's body, both providing support and relieving pressure points. The dual
zippers on the box top of the ComfortAire Clear Comfort cc1000 allows components to be changed or the topper to be removed for cleaning (steam clean or dry clean only). In addition, if needed the topper can be replaced without having to relplace the air support core.
The 6-inch air chambers are made from Cotton Latex developed by ComfortAire. This durable material has been the standard for air chambers in air beds for over two decades. The air support core is protected on the sides by the fabric-covered perimeter foam support and on the bottom by the under chamber support pad.
Inflation and air pressure in the ComfortAire cc1000 are managed with the Whisperflo® 6200 double diaphram digital control system. For mattresses larger than twin (single), each side can be controlled separately, providing individualized comfort and support for two sleepers.
