ComfortAire GS700

The GS.700 model adjustable air bed from ComfortAire is a design which moves the air chambers from the support layer of the bed to the comfort layer. Traditionally, the support layer of a bed was replaced with air chambers to give you the option of tailoring the support of the bed. By using thinner air chambers in the euro-top portion of the bed, and maintaining a firm supportive core layer of foam, you have a bed which should allow you to tailor your comfort yet maintain good support.

The GS.700 from ComfortAire uses a slim 3.5 inch adjustable air chamber in the euro-top layer. There is also a zoned foam layer and a total of 1.5 inches of additional foam quilted into the top cover. This quantity of foam should give you a plush overall feel with the air cores fully inflated. With a little less pressure in the cores you could move into an ultra plush category. Below the air cores there is a layer of Omalon base foam, which is a proprietary foam which ComfortAire states is more consistent in feel than typical polyurethane foams. You will also get the benefit of the IFC2001 air control unit. This is a balanced unit, finding common ground between speed and noise. There is also a handheld remote for ease of use. The remote displays the percentage of air in each chamber.

All of the GS series adjustable air beds from ComfortAire come with a 20 year warranty. There is only a 1 year warranty on the replaceable cover, and only 4 years of the warranty are covered at full replacement value. The remaining 16 years will be pro-rated based on the date of purchase. A queen size GS.700 model adjustable air bed from ComfortAire will run about $3050.00, and only the twin XL is available in a single chamber configuration.

Pros: good quality and it can be adjusted to fit the level of support I feel I need. Cons: it does have to be re-adjusted ever so often, since the air levels seem to change.

Mattress Rating: 4 starsMattress Comfort: up

I have found a good level of comfort.

Mattress Durability: neutral

Good so far.

Mattress Support: up

Good with setting it to a firmer level.

Mattress Features and Benefits as Advertised: neutral

It feels like I had hoped overall, but it does have to be adjusted once in ahwhile, so you have to be okay with playing with the settings every so often.

Seems like a good quality.
