Cotton Grande Dual 12

The Cotton Grande Dual 12 is the "Grande" model in the Toscana Collection of memory foam mattresses made by Magniflex, a bedding manufacturer in Prato, Tuscany, Italy. All the Toscana models have covers of organic cotton and support cores of Ecogreen. The other models in the Toscana Collection are Cotton Caresse Dual 10, Cotton Experience 9, and Cotton Chic 8. In each of the models' names, the final number is the height of that mattress in inches.

The Toscana mattresses replace older Magniflex models: Cotton Grande Dual 12 takes the place of the Linen Natursoft Deluxe (which replaced Linen Biosoft Deluxe); Cotton Caresse Dual 10 replaces BioCotton Caresse Deluxe Dual 12; Cotton Experience 9 replaces Linen Experience Deluxe; and Cotton Chic 8 replaces Bamboo Chic.

The support core of the Cotton Grande Dual 12 has three layers. The middle layer is the support foam Ecogreen. Magniflex describes Ecogreen as "techno-natural." It is flexible with orthopedic support properties. The formulation of this open-cell support material depends on water and essential oils (such as those derived from plants). Open-cell structure fosters airflow for coolness and dryness. Minimization of petroleum derivatives makes it ecologically friendly and healthful.

The dual support core can be flipped to select the comfort level (overall firmness) of the Cotton Grande Dual 12. On either side of the Ecogreen layer is a layer of Geomemory Foam, one side 2" and the other 1½" thick, for comfort levels of Medium Plush and Extra Plush. Geomemory is an "anatomical material," which means it conforms to body contours the way memory foam does. It is infused with Aloe Vera or soy extracts. The purpose is to relieve pressure points on hips, shoulders, etc.

The cover of the Cotton Grande Dual 12 is made of organic cotton (instead of linen in the previous model). Around the sides of the mattress, the fabric is engineered to have a three-dimensional pattern. This allows air to circulate, evaporating internal humidity to exit through the breathable material.

Beneath the cover is a 1" comfort layer of Memofoam, Magniflex's version of memory foam with a highly dense open-cell structure. Under the Memoform is a half inch layer of super-soft fiber padding. Together these layers make the Grande plusher.

The next comfort layer is 1 inch of Mallow Foam. This is for support and comfort. Mallow extract is in this foam for a soothing effect, calming the nerves.

Preferred foundations for the Cotton Grande Dual 12 provide complete support under the entire mattress. These include platform beds, European wood slats, and adjustable beds.

The Cotton Grande Dual 12 is covered by Magniflex's 20-year warranty. The first ten years are non-prorated; the remaining ten are prorated. This mattress is widely available in North America through several retailers in Canada and the United States.
