The Hybrid Collection is one of the Cool Touch Beds Collections by Diamond Mattress. The other collections in this group are the CoolTouchGel Memory Foam Collection and the Classic Collection, both composed of all-foam memory foam mattresses. The Hybrid Collection models are like the memory foam mattresses on the top, but they are like innerspring mattresses underneath, since the support cores consist of coils.
The current Cool Touch Hybrid Collection has only one series, Mirror. The three models in this series are the Mirror Luxury Plush (14" high), Mirror Medium (13") and Mirror Luxury Firm (11"). The descriptions are the same except for the heights, cover styles, and firmness levels.
The cover style for the lowest model, the 11" Mirror Luxury Firm, is smooth tight top, and that of the 13" Mirror Medium and 14" Mirror Luxury Plush is waterfall. As can be seen in the photo comparison, the top panel of a waterfall cover comes farther down on the sides than a tight top. For all models, the cover fabric is four-way stretch knit Rayon. This cover is not removable and not washable, but it is resistant to dust mites and allergens.
One feature of the covers is what Diamond Mattress calls Direct Contact design. The most conforming material (in this case 2" of Cool Touch memory foam) is at the top, just under the cover, to give the sleeper its full benefit. DM claims that this means it will not break down. I think this is supposed to mean the softest material has to bear only the weight of the sleeper, not the other components.
Under the Cool Touch memory foam are "Layers of Eco-Flex." Diamond does not say how many layers or their thicknesses, but the detailed description is of the series as a whole, not the separate models. However, with the note about density and performance ("Density does not affect performance, only the softness/firmness and feel of the mattress"), it appears that the number, thickness and density of these layers determine the height and overall firmness of each model.
The innerspring in a Cool Touch Hybrid mattress is made of individually wrapped pocket coils, assembled by Diamond Mattress–not a prepackaged layer. If the above photo is of these coils, then they are in a square grid pattern and not nested, which means a smaller coil count than nested pocket coil innersprings. The same photo indicates larger coils.
The pocket coils distribute support evenly for relief of pressure and increase spinal support. They also eliminate motion transfer.
An upholstered hardwood Blue Diamond foundation is sold by Diamond Mattress and its retailers. It is available in two heights: 8" Standard and 4" Low Profile. Cool Touch Hybrid mattresses are also compatible with adjustable beds, such as the two Adjustable Lifestyle Bases made by Ergomotion and sold by DM: Refuge and Active.
Cool Touch Hybrid Collection mattresses come with Diamond Mattress's 20-year limited warranty.
