The Generations Collection is one of seven Diamond Mattress branded collections of innerspring mattresses designed and made by the Diamond Mattress Company. This collection has four series: Duchess, Biltmore, Escape and Relief. These series do not differ greatly in their average heights.
All four series feature support units of individually wrapped pocket coils made by Diamond Mattress. The Duchess and Escape series have DM's 9 Series nested pocket coils. The Biltmore Series has the Diamond 7 Series coils, and the Relief Series relies on a 774-count pocket coil innerspring. The primary advantage of pocket coils is their conformabilty to contours of the sleeper's body. This reduces joint pressure while supporting the spine.
Each Generations innerspring rests on a base pad of high densty Eco-Flex foam. And each support unit is foam encased for coil protection and alignment, as well as for edge support. Each is also Tri-Zoned with a lumbar pad for lower back support. The edge support makes more of the top usable for sleeping, preventing roll-offs due to edge collapse.
Each Generations Collection mattress has a 4-way stretch knit cover of rayon. The fire retardant layer is not named, but it is usually quilted to the cover's top panel. Silicon-infused rayon is a fire retardant, and if this is what is used here, that would explain why the cover is not removable and washable. However, it is resistant to dust mites and allergens. The bottom of the cover is non-skid, keeping sheets and the mattress in place.
Each mattress in the Diamond Mattress Generatiions Collection has comfort layers of Eco-Flex and CoolGel memory foam. Eco-Flex is made using polyols from plant-derived oils. The memory foam is infused with beads of gel for increased support and to siphon off heat.
Each series in the Generations Collection has three models (as listed by Diamond Mattress). However, one retailer lists four for one of the series (not all retailers list all the models or all the series). Each model is named after its comfort level, and heights vary accordingly. Firmness levels range from 1 (softest) to 9 (firmest) on a 10-point scale. All are rated by Diamond Mattress as highly conformable.
Duchess Series mattresses (with their firmness ratings) are the 16" Duchess Luxury Medium (6) and Duchess Luxury Plush (3), and the 14" Duchess Luxury Firm (9). Models in the Biltmore Series are the 15" Biltmore Luxury Plush Pillow Top (2-3) and Biltmore Luxury Medium Euro Top (5), and the 13½" Biltmore Luxury Firm (9). Mattresses in the Escape Series are the 16" Escape Luxury Pillow Top (1), 14" Escape Luxury Plush (3), and 13" Escape Luxury Firm (8). In the Relief Series, the three models are the 15½" Relief Pillow Top (1), 14" Relief Luxury Plush (3), and 13" Relief Luxury Firm (8).
Two kinds of foundations are offered by Diamond Mattress for its Generations Collection mattresses. The first, made by Diamond, is a fixed-slat hardwood box foundation (not a box spring). This is upholstered to match the mattress.
The others are Diamond Mattress adjustable beds made by Ergomotion, the Refuge Adjustable Lifestyle Base and the Activate Adjustable Lifestyle Base.
Diamond Mattress's Generations Collection mattresses are available through several retailers, mostly in Southern California. Some retailers have a 100-night trial period. All carry the Diamond Mattress 20-year limited warranty.
