Doctor Preferred Club Plush
Club Plush is a model in the
Doctor Preferred series of innerspring mattresses by
Ortho Mattress, Inc. (O-M) According to
O-M, the coils in the innersprings of the
Doctor Preferred mattresses are a heavier gauge than the industry standard for mattress coils.
In the
Club Plush, as in other
Doctor Preferred models, these are "hand-nested" coils. The
O-M description of coils "laced together" with wire seems to fit the description of a Bonnell coil unit, so with the absence of further clarification "hand-nested" seems to mean placed and tied by hand.
Doctor Preferred Club Plush mattresses have foam padding between the innerspring coils and the sleeping surface.
Ortho Mattress claims that this is "low emission" foam. This is the only description of the foam, so it seems to be polyurethane since
O-M names memory foam, latex and gel when they are used.
The cover of the
Club Plush is fire resistant, meeting federal guidelines. Although the name of this model includes "Plush", the mattress itself is firm, a feel which is enhanced by the "close-cut stitching." This mattress uses "Solidstate" edge support.
The
Club Plush is factory direct, being made-to-order and shipped from the factory (
Ortho Mattress contracts with Southern California manufacturers to make their mattresses). The
Club comes with a 10-year non-prorated warranty.
