The Dolcé™ Line and the Sérénité™ Line are collections of enhanced Octaspring memory foam mattresses by Dormeo Octaspring featuring the innovative foam springs. Dolcé mattresses have a top comfort dual layer of memory foam totaling 2" (˝" higher than on mattresses in the Octaspring Collection).
Currently there are five models available in the Dolcé Line: FelicityBED, HarmonyBED, TranquilityBED, VitalityBED, and SimplicityBED. They range from 8" to 13" in height, and from Firm to Soft in the feel. Two new models, PurityBED and AffinityBED, have just been unveiled and should be available some time this year (2015).
The Dormeo Dolcé Line models vary in the number and height of Octaspring layers. Each of them has a 3-zoned top foam spring layer of MemoryCoils. In the 8" SimplicityBED , 10" VitalityBED, and 11" TranquilityBED the MemoryCoils are 2" high, while in the 12" FelicityBED and 13" HarmonyBED they are 3" high. This is the only Octaspring layer in the SimplicityBED.
The rest of the models add a 5-zoned EcoSpring layer, which is 3" high in FelicityBED and 2" in the others. With five firmness levels for EcoSprings, there are multiple firmness options for a zoned layer. Edge support is provided by placing firm EcoSprings on the perimeter of this layer.
The three highest models in the Dormeo Dolcé Line have a firm EcoSpring bottom layer. Although it is firmer, just adding another foam spring layer makes the mattress plusher. In TranquilityBED and HarmonyBED, these Octasprings are 2" high, but they are 3" in the FelicityBED.
The Dormeo Dolcé memory foam mattresses are also differentiated in the Eco-Cell support core layer. This is 4" high in SimplicityBED and VitalityBED, 3" in TranquilityBED and HarmonyBED, and 2" in FelicityBED.
As to the new models, the PurityBED has a Firm feel. The top Octaspring layer has 5 zones, unlike three in current models. Without added details, it seems that these foam springs are firmer, too. The top Octaspring layer in the AffinityBED still has the three zones, but apparently they are plusher.
A signature feature of the Dormeo Dolcé Line is the CoolNTech cover. The top panel fabric is still "silky-soft." And the sides are still mesh. What stands out is the addition of phase change materials (PCMs) to the fabric. PCMs are selected and engineered to keep temperatures within a specified range. They do this by liquifying when the temperature passes the top of the range, absorbing heat. If it gets too cool, the PCMs release heat by solidifying.
Dormeo sells a number of foundations for use with their mattresses, including those in the Dolcé Line. Three are divan beds, two are adjustable beds and one is a platform base. These models would also be compatible with European wood slats if the slats were spaced closely enough, but traditional box springs are generally advised against for use with foam mattresses..
Mattresses in the Dolcé Line come with a 90-Night Tryout (trial period). They are also covered by Dormeo's 25-year limited warranty. Dolcé mattresses are available through several retailers, as well as on the Dormeo North America website.
