Models in the luxury mattress Sérénité Line by Dormeo North America, the US branch of Dormeo Octaspring, are hybrid mattresses. More properly called hybrid foam mattresses, these are Octaspring memory foam mattresses with latex comfort layers. Currently this collection has four models: Dormeo Sérénité restBED, blissBED, luxeBED, and zenBED. Heights range from 8˝ to 14 inches.
The signature features of each of these models are a latex top comfort foam layer, Octaspring foam springs for support and conformability, bamboo fiber top cover panel, and an EcoCell base foam support core.
As with all Dormeo mattresses, the key feature is the foam spring. Called Octasprings because they are eight-sided columns formed into a honeycomb pattern with a hollow core, these foam springs yield to pressure like metal springs, but without pushing back. The memory foam Octasprings have the contouring, cradling response of memory foam, but without heat accumulation. Instead, when they are flexed, the honeycomb structure pumps air out of and into the foam springs, actually generating airflow. This airflow both cools the mattress and dries up any moisture which has penetrated the interior. Most of the models also have support foam Octasprings (described further down).

The top layer in each Sérénité model is 2" of 100% Talalay latex foam. Latex is resilient, anti-microbial and hypoallergenic. In zenBED the latex is in a pillowtop with a 2" memory foam comfort layer beneath.
Just under the comfort layer of each model is a layer of MemoryCoils. These are Octasprings made of memory foam. This layer has three zones for the upper, middle and lower regions of the body, with Soft firmness foam springs at the ends and Medium ones in the middle and on the perimeter. The MemoryCoils are 2" high in the restBED and blissBED, and 3" in the luxeBED and zenBed.
All the Sérénité Line models except restBED have a second layer of Octasprings. These are EcoSprings, made of Dormeo's EcoCell support foam. EcoSprings are made in five firmness levels: Soft, Medium Soft, Medium, Medium Firm and Firm. Firm foam springs are placed on the perimeter to be edge support for the sleeping surface. This layer is 5-zoned, with alternating firmness for the head, shoulders, mid-section, hips and feet. With five levels of firmness, the overall firmness of the bed and relative firmness of the zones can be finely tuned.
The top two Sérénité mattresses, luxeBED, and zenBED, have a third Octaspring layer. These EcoSprings are for additional support, though adding this layer does not necessarily increase overall firmness.
The base layer of mattresses in the Sérénité Line is a slab of firm EcoCell, which supplies basic support for the entire mattress. This layer is 4" thick in the two lower models (without the third Octaspring layer), and 3" in the higher ones (those with it).
The four Dormeo Sérénité Line mattress models differ in their overall firmness feel. The 8˝" restBED is Firm; 10˝" blissBED is Medium Firm; 12˝" luxeBED is Medium Plush; and 14" zenBED is a plusher Medium Plush.
Several foundations are available for Dormeo Octaspring mattresses in the Sérénité Line. Dormeo supplies three models of divan beds: Siena, Venice and Tiffany. They also have a platform, the Flat Foundation, and two adjustable beds, Infinity Base and Infinity Deluxe Base. The adjustable bases are supplied by HSM Bedding Solutions.
All Dormeo North America mattress models, including those in the Sérénité Line, have a 90-Night Tryout (sleep trial period), and are covered by Dormeo's 25-Year Limited Warranty. They are available through several retailers in the U.S. and Sleep Country in Canada.
Changes to the Dormeo Sérénité Line are slight. This collection is still compossed of four mattresses, but now BED has been removed from the models' names. This is still Dormeo's set of latex mattresses with a comfort layer of all-natural latex. Latex foam, a naturally resilient substance, provides a feel for the user which differs from memory foam.
The covers of Sérénité mattresses have a silky fabric made from bamboo. The description of the fabric leads to the conclusion that this is rayon made from bamboo. Unless specifically stated that the bamboo fibers are extracted as such from bamboo in a process similar to producing linen or hemp fibers, it is safer to consider it to be rayon.
One noticable change is in the Sérénité rest. This is now listed as 8" high, while the original restBED was 8˝" in height.
The selection of recommended foundations has also changed, with two slatted platform beds, one wood and one steel-framed, and two divans with drawers.
