The English Hand Tufted Collection may be considered the "Anniversary Collection" of Eastman House Bdding (EHB). First shown in the Fall High Point Market in October 2015, it was released to retailers in time for Eastman House's 150th anniversary in January 2016. It can also be viewed as EHB's luxury collection.
This is the fifth series listed by Eastman House on its website. The others are Eastman House Latex Collection, Specialty Collection, Heritage Collection, and Traditions Collection. The first series consists of latex mattresses, the second is memory foam mattresses, and the rest pocket coil innerspring mattresses. They are also, on average, the highest models in Eastman House's lineup.
Two features now in every mattress by Eastman House Bedding, including those in the English Hand Tuffted Collection, are Spinal Zone Technology (SPT) and Zoned Quilt Technology (ZQT).
Spinal Zone Technology uses a perimeter rod around the middle section of the encased coil innerspring to help in supporting the heaviest portion of the body. This is paired with the LifeEdge system, which inserts butterfly shaped wire springs into the foam rail of the foam encasement.
Eastman House's Zoned Quilt Technology is a patented feature. The quilting materials in the center section of the top covers is the pre-compressed. This makes the middle portion more resistant to body impressions. Additionally, this part has another layer. Consisting of memory foam, it bolsters this area while increasing pressure relief for the hips and thighs.
Eastman's online listing of models in the English Hand Tufted Collection has five models. These are Eastman House Luxury Euro P/T, Eastman House Luxury Plush, Eastman House Luxury Firm, Eastman House Extravagance Euro P/T, and Eastman House Splendor Euro P/T. The first one and the last two are 14" high. The Luxury Firm is 12", and the Luxury Plush appears to be the same height.
Common to Hand Tufted models (with the possible exception of the Luxury Plush), is a ⅞" support layer of high density foam. This is just above the coils, which makes it a transition layer, intermediate in firmness between the innerspring and the comfort layers.
The covers of mattresses in this collection are Belgian damask of organic cotton, which is quilted to multiple layers of firm support foam and a fire barrier. The fire barriers in these models is compressed wool and silk, a natural materials solution to meet federal flammability requirements without the use of chemicals.
All English Hand Tufted mattresses have latex, though the number, heights and placement of the layers varies by model. The Luxury Euro has 1" of 24 ILD latex. Luxury Plush and Luxury Firm each have 1" of "Enhanced" latex. Extravagance and Splendor each have two latex layers: 1" each of 24 ILD and 19 ILD. Latex is well-known for its resiliency.
Other foams are polyurethane. This is EHB's Harvest Foam, which is classified as plant-based. That means that plant-derived oils are used in its formulation.
English Hand Tufted mattresses are held together by lace tack tufting. This is done by hand, and it extends top to bottom to hold all the layers in alignment.
The foundation provided by Eastman House Bedding for mattresses in the English Hand Tufted Collection is an advanced design box spring, the Semi-Flex. The springs in this are made by Leggett & Platt's Bedding Components division.
Available only at participating retailers, English Hand Tufted Collection mattresses carry a 15-year non-prorated manufacturers warranty from Eastman House Bedding.
