The Specialty Collection is the line of memory foam mattresses by Eastman House Bedding (EHB). The identifying brand name in the current collection is Nights in White Satin. Two models are described on the EHB website, but they are representative of the collection. They are Nights in White Satin Latex Euro Pillow Top (5511) and Nights in White Satin Gel Euro Pillow Top (5512). Eastman notes that not all of their mattress models are listed on their site. As with all mattresses by Eastman, the Nights in White Satin models are made by hand.
The two models shown by EHB are both titled Euro Pillow Top. A close look at the photo of Model 5512 shows that it is a eurotop mattress. The name probably reflects a time when all attached toppers were called pillow tops.
The ingredients listed as in the EHB Specialy Collection models include HARVEST plant-based polyurethane foam, memory foam, natural latex, gel, comfort foam (a softer polyurethane), organic cotton, microcoils, and possibly other coils, and quilting foam.
The two White Satin models have a two-layer lower section. The support core is Eastman Support Foam (polyurethane). It is high density in Model 5512 and ultra-high density in Model 5511. The second layer up is Eastman's cushion firm upholstery foam (what some of us may call "couch foam").
Though not stated, it is likely that there is a fabric cover or liner on this section, variously called a separator or an insulator in other brands. This does more than divide the lower section from the euro top. It insulates the microcoils in the 6" high upper section from the cushion firm foam.
This is an example where coils are now found in specialty sleep mattresses. The wrapped microcoils are inserted between layers of foam to enhance pressure relief and eliminate motion transfer. Since air flows more easily through the microcoil layer, this serves to cool the mattress, which is especially important with memory foam.
In descriptions of the 5511 and 5512 White Satin models, the euro top is completed with gel-infused memory foam and the quilt foam. The memory foam is infused with gel to enhance its support and to add to the cooling. But judging by the model's names, this layer in 5511 is probably latex instead.
The Eastman Quilt Foam is quilted to the cover in the Nights in White Satin mattresses. The fabric in these models is not specified, but the advanced features for select models in the Specialty Collection includes organic cotton Belgian damask. The photo of 5512 reveals that it is a damask.
The coil-on-coil technology named among the advanced features is not named in the descriptions of the two Nights in White Satin models. This may refer to a double layer of microcoils.
Warranties on Eastman House Specialty Collection mattresses range from 10 to 20 years, non-prorated.
