The Premier Model Mattress by Easy Rest Adjustable Sleep Systems is designed and made to be used on the Premier Model Power Bed (every Easy Rest adjustable bed is paired with its own mattress).
The Premier is an innerspring mattress. The support unit is comprised of 330 offset coils (compared to the Platinum Model Mattress which has pocket coils). With 12.5-gauge wire, these are heavy-duty coils, heavier than most offset coils, because these were designed specifically for use on an adjustable bed.
Offset coils were developed as an improvement on Bonnell coils, the original innerspring support system. Each coil has a hinge action with adjoining coils, giving the offsets more flexibility than Bonnells, an important consideration with adjustable beds. Offset coils also have less motion transfer than Bonnell coils, reducing partner disturbance.
The Premier Model Mattress has a cover of stretch-knit fabric. Knit responds better on adjustable beds than woven material with the stretching and folding. This fabric is described as "ultra plush," but the fiber was not specified (this is probably polyester or a poly-cotton blend).
The foam comfort layer of the Premier Model Mattress is composed of inserts, making the comfort adjustable with three choices of overall firmness. Assuming a coil height of 7 to 8 inches, this leaves a comfort layer thickness of 3 to 4 inches. Having a plusher feel does not compromise the support of the coils and the adjustable bed.
Easy Rest Adjustable Sleep Systems usually sells their adjustable beds with the mattresses made for them, but an Easy Rest adjustable bed may be purchased alone. I do not know if a mattress may be purchased alone, but if you want the Premier Model Mattress for an existing bed, you can email, call or write the company (see location below) and ask.
