Emerald Luxury Series
Spring Time Bedding, Inc. introduced the Emerald Luxury Series in the Fall of 2013. These are hybrid mattresses with an innerspring support core and a multi-layer foam comfort core. As of now, it has only two models, 495 and 496. Spring Time describes Emerald Luxury as "an amazing combination of all the right components." Online, the two models have identical lists of features except for the comfort level—495 is Medium Plush and 496 is Firm—so the difference must be in the firmness or relative thicknesses of the foam layers.

The covers of Emerald Luxury mattresses feature a cotton-bamboo blend fabric. This is quilted with several foam layers: one of natural latex, one of memory foam, and three of quilting foam (super soft). The style of these mattresses is described as tight top, which simply means it is not pillow top or Euro top. The quilting style is tack & jump.

The comfort core of Emerald Luxury Series mattresses is composed of five foam layers. Three of these layers are "sustainable" foam, which I take to mean that they are made of plant-based substances (other than latex). Added to these are one layer each of latex, memory foam, HD medium-soft convoluted foam, and HD firm foam. Since the composition of the last two is not stated, they may be polyurethane. The convoluted foam is to allow air circulation through the middle of the mattress. The variety of foams supplies different levels of firmness, and changing the firmness of one or more layers will adjust the overall firmness of the mattress.

Between the comfort core and the innerspring are two insulator pads. This is to protect the foam from being caught in the springs and to protect the springs from interference by the foam.

The primary support for Emerald Luxury Series models is the innerspring core of pocket coils. These are individually wrapped to allow them to respond independently, conforming to the contours of the sleeper's body. The innerspring is zoned with placement of heavier gauge coils where more support is called for.

The mattresses in the Spring Time Bedding Emerald Luxury Series are foam-encased, 360^o to provide edge support.

Emerald Luxury mattresses from Spring Time Bedding are 14" high and may be purchased with a 9" or 5" foundation. The manufacturer offers a 20-year warranty with full coverage (except for the cover) for any defects within the first 5 years. After this, the warranty is prorated. The warranty depends on having an adequate foundation.
