G12 Sonata

G12 Sonata is the middle model of the Genesis Series in the 2015 Comfortaire Collection of adjustable air beds. The tagline for this 12" faux euro zip top mattress is, "All comfort, no compromise." Comfortaire says that with the G12 you can "Satisfy your style and enjoy more comfort with better control." The G12 is the successor to the Original Comfort oc500 and oc600 in the 2013 Collection.

One key feature is "Individual Comfort." In sizes intended for two sleepers, each side of the air bed can be adjusted individually. Each partner has a remote control for that side of the mattress.

The sleepers are supported by pressurized air in the 6" high cotton-latex air chambers. This is the Original Air Technology™ developed by Comfortaire, the original adjustable air bed company. The same original principle has remained through over 33 years of innovations: air support adjusted by the users themselves to meet personal needs and preferences.

The air is controlled by WhisperFlo 7200 (Wf7) air pumps. These are diaphragm pumps with quiet operation for less sleep disturbance. This pump is also more powerful than the previous version. This gives the user a wider range of comfort levels.

Around the air chamber unit is an 8" high foam perimeter support. This not only supports the air chambers from the side, it also serves as edge support for the sleeping surface.

The G12 Sonata is made more comfortable by the bamboo cover fabric and the comfort pad. The cover is made of fibers drawn from stalks of bamboo (this is similar to extracting linen fibers from flax). These fibers are mesh-like, making them breathable and moisture wicking. This is to make the cover fresh, dry and cool. The fabric is knit to make it comformable to both the sleeper above and the foam underneath.

Beneath the cover is a 2¾" comfort pad. This is 2.2-lb. convoluted foam. The multi-directional give of convoluted foam conforms to the shape and weight of a sleeper's body to relieve pressure points. It also helps keep the spine in a healthy posture for back comfort.

According to Comfortaire, their foams are safe:
•Low Emission (VOCs) for indoor air quality
•Made without ozone depleters
•Made without PBDE flame retardants
•No mercury, lead or heavy metals
•No formaldehyde or prohibited phthalates

The G12 Sonata is covered by a 25-year 2/25 limited warranty. The compatible foundations are adjustable beds and platform beds.
