Generations Amor Series
The
Amor Series is one of three series in the
Generations Collection under the
Diamond Mattress brand of
Diamond Mattress, Inc. (
DM). According to
DM, the
Amor models generally have the same features as the
Relief models, but they are designed to be "more affordable." This is done partly through the selection of materials.
The
Amor Series has four models; With their firmnes levels and heights, they are:
Amor Firm (Firm - 11"),
Amor Plush (Medium Plush - 12"),
Amor Euro Top (Medium Firm - 13"), and
Amor Pillow Top (Luxury Plush, 14").
All mattresses in the
Generations Collection feature individually wrapped coils made by
Diamond Mattress. In combination with high density foams, these coils eliminate motion transfer. This type of innerspring is popular now for this reason, and also because of its conformity and pressure relief. Since each coil responds independently the the weight placed directly on it, a pocket coil array conforms to the shape of a sleeper's body. The coil count (Queen size) is 740. Underneath is a base layer of
Eco-Flex support foam to undergird and protect the coils.
Unlike traditional Bonnell coils (which are tied together top-and-bottom), pocket coils (like those in the
DM Generations Amor mattresses) need perimeter support. In the
Amor Series this is provided by foam encasement. This also serves as edge support for the sleeping surface, cutting out roll-off and making the entire top side usable for sleeping or for sitting on the edge. This system is combined with 3-zone lumbar support.
There are several comfort layers of HD
Eco-Flex, a foam containing plant-derived materials. These are topped by a half-inch of visco-elastic memory foam. The number, ILD ratings and thicknesses of the
Eco-Flex layers determine the comfort levels of the individual models.
The removable and washable cover of the mattresses in the
Generations Amor Series features four-way stretch knit Rayon. This fabric is resistant to allergens such as dust mites. The bottom has a non-skid surface, which keeps the mattress and the sheets from slipping out of place.
The default foundation for
Generations Amor mattresses is
Diamond Mattress's hardwood foundation, made of lumber from sustainable forests and upholstered to match the mattress. The
Amor Series models are also adjustable compatable.
DM sells two
Leggett & Patt adjustable foundations, the
S-Cape Lifestyle Base and the
Pro-Motion Lifestyle Base.
The
Diamond Mattress Generations Amor mattresses carry a 20-year warranty, which the company says shows its confidence in its products. However,
DM recommends changing ones mattress "every 8-10 years," partly to meet changing needs.
