Generations Escape
The
Escape series is in the
Generations Collection under the
Diamond Mattress Brand of
Diamond Mattress, a California based manufacturer. These are innerspring mattresses with foam comfort layers.
Diamond Mattress calls
Generations "one of our best selling mattress collections." Within this collection, the
Escape series are their "most luxurious traditional models." As of this writing,
Diamond says, "This product is not available for purchase on our online store."
Diamond Mattress makes its own coils, including the
9 Series nested pocket coils used in the
Escape models. Being individually wrapped, each of these coils responds independently to weight placed directly on it. This supports a sleeper's body evenly, reducing pressure points. It also dampens transfer of motion, which eliminate disturbance by one sleeping partner of the other.
The coils in
Escape series mattresses are nested. According to
DM, these are placed in a hexagonal (honeycomb) grid instead of a rectangular one (see illustration). They say this provides 25% more support. The coil array is also tri-zoned, with more support in the center third of the mattress for the torso, lumbar and hips. The innerspring is foam encased, which stabilizes the coils, supports the edge of the sleeping surface and helps eliminate motion transfer.
The comfort layers of Escape series mattresses care made of Eco-Flex, a highly dense plant-based foam, and CoolGEL memory foam. The CoolGEL is gel-infused memory foam. The gel makes the memory foam more supportive while countering the tendency of memory foam to become hot. The Eco-Flex can be either firm or soft. The number, selection, firmness and thickness of these layers determine the comfort levels of the individual models.
There are three Escape models. They are Escape Luxury Pillow Top (Soft/Ultra Plush), Escape Luxury Plush (Medium Plush), and Escape Luxury Firm (Medium Firm). They are 16", 14" and 13" respectively. The Escape Luxury Pillow Top is a pillowtop mattress, and the other two are tight-top. Thanks to the top layer of gel memory foam, all are rated as highly conformable.
The covers of the Generations Escape mattresses are made of four-way stretch knit rayon, which is removable and washable.
The bottom of the Diamond Generations Escape mattress is a base layer of orthopedic grade Eco-Flex. This gives the coils a firm udergirding and protects them. Also, the bottom side of the cover has a non-skid surface so the sheet stays in place and the mattress does not shift on the foundation.
The foundation Diamond Mattress makes for the Generations Escape Series mattresses is made of sustainable hardwood and is upholstered to match the mattress. Also available are adjustable foundations sold by Diamond, such as the Leggett & Platt S-Cape Lifestyle Base.
Mattresses in the Generations Escape series carry Diamond Mattress's 20-year limited manufacturer's warranty.
