GO-Pedic G-Series
GO-Pedic G-Series is a gel foam, memory foam and latex mattress collection from
Springtime Bedding, Inc., an independent bedding manufacturer in Hackensack, New Jersey. It currently has three models:
Go Pedic-10",
Go Pedic-12", and
Go Pedic-14". Except for the cover material, they each have the same construction, differing in the thicknesses of the layers.
According to
Springtime Bedding, the
GO-Pedic G-Series "is specifically designed to enhance sleep and improve health." They claim that the natural and synthetic materials used in this line are "the finest." Among the cited benefits are "promoting spinal alignment in a pressure free environment" and the absence of "abrasive points." Also, the layering of foams eliminates motion transfer, which they call "quiet."
From the top, the
Go Pedic-10" is covered with an aloe vera stretch knit with fire barrier and quilted with quilting memory foam. The aloe vera is included in the fabric as gel and/or fibers. When the cover reaches the bottom of the mattress, it meets a non-skid bottom to keep sheets in place and to not allow the mattress to scoot around. The cover on the other two models is white spandex super stretch knit.
The top comfort layer is gel-infused memory foam. This is 1" thick in the
Go Pedic-10", 2" in the
Go Pedic-12", and 3" in the
Go Pedic-14". Memory foam is infused with gel to keep the mattress from becoming too hot. Gel carries heat away from the sleeping surface.
The second layer is memory foam, 1" in
Go Pedic-10", 2" in
Go Pedic-12" and
Go Pedic-14". The role of memory foam is conforming support. The goal is to support the entire surface of the sleeper's body to relieve pressure. Since memory foam tends to have that "sinking feeling," it need a firmer material underneath.
The support core is high density natural latex. It is more resilient than memory foam. Latex is also antibacterial, antifungal, hypoallergenic and dust-mite resistant. The latex layer is 8" in the
Go Pedic-10" and the
Go Pedic-12", and 9" in the
Go Pedic-14".
Springtime Bedding lists the
Go Pedic-10" as suitable for back sleepers. The other two models, which are plusher, are suitable for both back and side sleeping.
Springtime Bedding covers the
Go Pedic-10" with a 10-year warranty. For
Go Pedic-12" and
Go Pedic-14" the warranty is for 20 years. The warranty terms are very specific as to what is and isn't covered and the conditions. One of the conditions is the kind of foundation used under the mattress.
