iComfort Avid EverFeel
The
Avid EverFeel is the top model in the
iComfort® EverFeel Collection by
mattress manufacturer
Serta, a 2014 update of the
iComfort Collection of
memory foam mattresses. This collection features
Serta's new
EverFeel foam and
Cool Action™
Dual Effects® Gel Memory Foam.
Avid EverFeel is the only model in this new collection to have two layers of each of these. The balance of foams brings the comfort level of this mattress to Medium Plush.
Serta does not state what the
cover fabric is, but the other models in this collection have a blend of
cotton and
polyester for moisture wicking and breathability.
The layers of
EverFeel (EF) and
Cool Action Dual Effects (CADE) in the
Avid EverFeel are paired: ¾" EF, 1½" CADE, ¾" EF, 1½" CADE, 4½" combined.
EverFeel foam yields cradling conformity without needing the time and temperature that memory foam does. It quickly responds to changes in the sleeper's sleeping position, so the user "ever feels" the same level of support.
Cool Action™
Dual Effects® Gel Memory Foam is a development of
iComfort's
Cool Action™ Gel Memory Foam. While the older version has one kind of
gel, the newer version has two. Both foams are infused with
MicroSupport™ gel with millions of gel beads under parts of the body needing additional support. This relieves pressure points which cause the tossing and turning that interrupts sleep.
To this
Dual Effects® adds
MicroCool+™ for temperature control. This is done by
Phase Change Materials in the gel which keep temperatures within a designated range by changing their physical state between solid and liquid.
All of the above foams could make the mattress too soft for some users, so the next layer is 2" of
Serta's
Support Foam. Below this is a 1" layer of
Cool Action™ Gel Memory Foam, making
Avid EverFeel one of five
iComfort EverFeel models having both versions of the
Cool Action.
The
iComfort Avid EverFeel memory foam mattress is compatible with the
Serta iComfort foundations StabL Base (a
platform foundation) and
Motion Perfect Adjustable Base (an
adjustable bed).
As with all the
iComfort models, the support core is
Comfort Last polyurethane support foam with a foam encasement of
Ultimate Edge Support.
So far I have been able to find only one retailer carrying the
iComfort Avid EverFeel. It is the highest priced of the new
iComfort EverFeel mattresses. It carries the
Serta 25-year limited warranty and has a 120-night sleep trial period.
