iComfort Directions Acumen Plush
Acumen Plush is the second model in the
iComfort Directions Collection of
memory foam mattresses made by
Serta. It is softer and an inch higher than the
Inception, thanks to a second 1" layer of
EverCool® GfX Memory Foam. Signature features, shared by all models in this collection, are
Thermo°Cool™ yarn fabric cover with
TENCEL® fibers,
Cool Action™
Dual Effects® Gel Memory Foam,
Pods™ Gel-Activated Support, and
Comfort Last® Foam Core with
Ultimate Edge® Support foam encasement.
The
cover fabric of the
iComfort Directions Acumen Plush mattress is made with
Thermo°Cool™ yarn which contains
TENCEL® fibers.
TENCEL® was developed for use in clothing worn by persons engaged in strenuous activites or in hot environments. These fibers wick moisture away and carry it to where it evaporates for a coooling effect. This cover is backed by
FireBlocker, a flame retardant fiber material.
Under the cover are two 1" layers of
EverCool® GfX Memory Foam and one of
Serta PillowSoft™ Foam. The
EverCool® contains sheets of graphene (a form of graphite) only a few nanometers thick. Graphene is a high conductor of heat, carrying it away to dissipate. Being
memory foam,
EverCool conforms itself to body contours for even support and pressure relief. The
PillowSoft™ adds plushness.
The
Cool Action™
Dual Effects® Gel Memory Foam is infused with two kinds of
gel, giving it 25% more gel than the older
Cool Action™ gel memory foam.
MicroSupport® is concentrated under parts of the body needing additional support.
MicroCool+™ gel contains
Phase Change Materials (PCMs) to regulate temperature.
The
Pods™ Gel-Activated Support is a
foam layer with strategically positioned gel discs. This enhances and tailors the support of the HR foam core.
Support in the
iComfort Directions Acumen Plush depends on the
Comfort Last® Foam Core. This is a 6" high block of highly resilient
polyurethane, designed as underlying support for the entire mattress. Surrounding it is the
Ultimate Edge® foam encasement to enclose the support core and to provide edge support for the sleeping surface.
The recommended
foundations for the
Acumen Plush are
Serta's
StabL-Base flat foundation (available in 9" Standard and 5˝" Low Profile) and
Motion Custom™ Adjustable Foundation. The warranty requires the use of a proper foundation.
The
iComfort Directions Acumen Plush bears
Serta's 25-year limited warranty (first fifteen years non-prorated, last ten years prorated). It is available through several retailers.
