iComfort Directions

The iComfort Directions collection under the iComfort by Serta was unveiled in January 2013 with the introduction of four new models: Inception, Acumen, Reinvention and Epic. With these models, Serta introduced four new technologies into its product line: EverCool™ Gfx, Cool Action™ Dual Effects™, Pods™ Gel-Activated Support and ThermoCool™ Fabric Covers with Tencel®.

EverCool™ GfX

Infusion of Graphene into memory foam defines Serta's EverCool™ Gfx. The Graphene is described as "super heat conducting" with a higher ability to dissipate heat then previously used materials.

Cool Action™ Dual Effects™

This is a dual-action memory foam, the first using Serta's MicroSupport® gel plus MicroCool+™ gel. The MicroCool+™ uses phase change materials in the gel to regulate temperature, keeping it within a desired range.

Pods™ Gel-Activated Support

These are gel discs which are placed selectively deep in the mattress to configure the support.

ThermoCool™ Fabric Covers with Tencel®
The Tencel in this cover fabric is moisture wicking, employed to keep the sleeping surface dry. This not only helps cool the surface, it also combats moisture related problems, such as bacteria, mold. dust mites, and odors.

The four models vary as to which other iComfort features are used with these technologies, as well as thicknesses of certain layers. Top-of-the-line Epic has 2" each of EverCool GfX and Cool Action Dual Effects and adds a slow recovery latex foam. Entry level Inception has 1" of EverCool GfX and 2" of the dual action foam. Accordingly, the heights of the models are 11", 12", 13" and 14"

Foam mattresses have different foundation support needs than innerspring models. Two bases are provided by Serta for iComfort Directions mattresses, the iComfort StabL-Base Foundation and the Serta Motion Custom Adjustable Bed. The StabL-Base is designed to provide even support across the whole bottom of the mattress. It is made of tempered steel and furniture quality wood and is upholstered to match the mattress. The Serta Motion is engineered to work with almost any Serta mattress except Ultra Firm models.

Serta iComfort Directions mattresses have a 25-year limited warranty. They are sold by several retailers across the country and online.
