iComfort Intellectual EFX
Intellectual EFX is the mid-low model in the
iComfort EFX of
memory foam mattresses by
Serta. The high-end model is
Brilliant EFX, and the entry-level one is
Aura. The remaining two models are
Visionary EFX Cushion Firm and
Visionary EFX Plush.
The key feature of
Serta iComfort mattresses is
Cool Action™
Dual Effects® gel memory foam, which is infused with beads of two kinds of
gel, one for support and one for cooling.
The
EFX collection uses
EverFeel Technology (EFX), which adds a layer of
EverFeel, a poly-foam which is sensitive to changes in room temperature.
Serta claims that
EFX keeps the same level of support and conformity in a wide range of temperatures.

Avantec fabric in the cover is a blend of polyester (90%), lycra (2%) and Tencel® (8%). Tencel® is fibers extracted from wood pulp. It wicks moisture from the sleeping surface and cools by evaporation, thus controlling both moisture and temperature.
EverFeel™ Technology, described above, is to keep the support and conformity even when room temperature changes.
Cool Action™ Dual Effects® gel memory foam is infused with MicroSupport gel and MicroCool+ gel. MicroSupport enhances support characteristics of the open-cell memory foam. MicroCool+ regulates temperature, keeping the mattress from becoming too hot.
Two layers of Serta Support Foam add firmness to this memory foam mattress, bringing the firmness of the 11" high iComfort Intellectual EFX to Ultra Firm.
Support for the Intellectual EFX is provided by the Comfort Last® Foam Core. This high resiliency foam supports all the layers above, keeping them from bottoming out. This both offers orthopedic support to the sleepers and prolongs the life of the materials.
Ultimate Edge® Support foam encasement is the perimeter support for the support core and the comfort layers, as well as supporting the sleeping surface. This makes the top of the Intellectual EFX 100% usable and prevents roll-off.
iComfort Intellectual EFX carries Serta's 25-year limited warranty. The recommended foundations are the iComfort StabL Base (8" standard or 5" low profile) and the Serta Motion adjustable bases. This model is widely available through major chains and local and regional retailers, both in stores and online.
