The Intiuition Collection of memory foam mattresses by Glideaway is a growing series. Just this year (2015), the Glideaway Bed Carriage Manufacturing Company introduced new models not yet listed on theirs or retailers' websites. These additions actually consitute a new collection of hybrid mattresses, Intuition Visions, which will be reviewed later.
Glideaway currently lists five models for the Intuition Collection: 8″ Perception, 10″ Insight, 10" Inspirit, 12″ Clarity, and 14″ Enlighten. Three other model names are used by a few retailers: Illuminate (12"), Renew (10"), and Bliss (12"). These are older models; along with Inspirit, they are described in a 2010 Sleepharmony brochure.
Intuition Memory Foam Mattresses have support cores of Glideaway's Body Support Base Foam. The height of this core varies by model, 5" in Inspirit, Enlighten and Insight, and 6" in Perception and Clarity.
Four of the Intuition models (Perception, Insight, Inspirit, and Clarity) have a top layer of Glideaway's Advantage Plus Memory Foam. In Insight and Clarity this layer has 2" of border foam for support (presumably edge support). Enlighten has a plush euro top, and the top comfort layer beneath that is Elite Core Memory Foam, a higher density memory foam which is more supportive.
Except for the 8" Perception, the Sleepharmony Intuition mattresses have a layer of Glideaway's Gentle Support Transition Foam. This offers intermediate support between the support core and the memory foams. Glideaway says this foam "provides gentle cushioning while distributing weight evenly to promote better circulation and relieving pressure." Using a transition foam helps prolong the life of a memory foam mattress by reducing the discontinuity from the extra firm support core to the softer comfort foams.
The euro top of Enlighten has 1.5" each of Elite Core and Gentle Support.
No mention is made in descriptions of the covers of mattresses in the Sleepharmony Intuition Collection, except for the Inspirit which says it has a "Large swirl design stretch knit top cover." The photos indicate that the covers are not quilted. The Inspirit page also describes the memory foam as ventilated with "air chambers."
The Perception and Insight are covered by 10-year limited warranties. Those for the others are for 20 years.
Firm foundations are needed for memory foam mattresses. Glideaway offers foundations and bed frames. They also sell adjustable beds.
