Invacare Solace Prevention 1080 Mattress

Solace Prevention 1080 (SPS1080) is the 80"-long mattress in the Invacare® Solace® Prevention 1000 Series, part of the Invacare® Solace® Prevention Series of Static Mattresses*. These foam mattresses are made by Invacare and sold for use on their adjustable beds made for use in hospitals, resident nursing facilities, and home health care. The last two digits of the model name indicate the length. This mattress also comes in lengths of 76" (SPS1076) and 84" (SPS1084). It is the suggested mattress for use on Invacare's Carroll CS Series beds, but can be used on other suitable Invacare beds.

Invacare Solace Prevention Series foam mattresses are designed and constructed to economically prevent pressure sores in patients/residents who are at low-to-medium risk. There are four series in the Invacare Solace Prevention Series: Invacare® Solace® Foam Mattresses, Invacare® Solace® Prevention 1000 Series, Invacare® Solace® Prevention 2000 Series, and Invacare® Solace® Prevention 3000 Series.

SPS1080 it is a two-layer foam mattress in the Invacare® Solace® Prevention 1000 Series, which is designed to prevent pressure sores (ulcers) in low-risk patients. The top layer is convoluted with a fortress cut, while the bottom layer is flat. The lower layer is zoned, with softer foam at the head and heel.

Solace Prevention 1000 mattresses are covered with nylon and vinyl. The top of the cover is 70 denier nylon. While permeable to vapors (i.e. breathable), the nylon top is resistant to fluids, an important consideration for patients with control issues. The sides and bottom are covered with tri-laminate vinyl. This mattress meets federal fire safety guidelines.

An option for the SPS1080 is raised side rails to prevent the client from bruising on the side bars of the bed. This option is not available in Canada.

Invacare Solace Prevention 1000 mattresses are available through the same authorized dealers who sell or rent out Invacare home healthcare beds. They carry an Invacare warranty which covers the mattress for 5 years and the cover for 1 year.
