Invacare Solace Prevention 3000 Series
The
Invacare Solace Prevention 3000 Series is the top series within the
Invacare Solace Prevention Series of foam healthcare mattresses made by
Invacare, a medical equipment manufacturer in Elyria, Ohio, USA. This series has four models:
SPS3076,
SPS3080,
SPS3080RSR (with 3" raised side bolsters),
SPS3084. (The last two digits of each model number denotes the length of the mattress in inches.
SPS3080 will represent this series here.)
To the features of the
Solace Prevention 1000 Series, the
Solace Prevention 3000 Series adds built-in side supports (as in the
Solace Prevention 2000 Series) and visco-elastic foam (
memory foam) in the soft-heel section (zone). The purpose of this design is to prevent pressure sores or ulcers in a patient with limited or no mobility in bed. These mattresses have a load capacity of 350 pounds.
The core of
SPS3080 has two
foam layers. At least the top layer has a fortress-cut convoluted surface. This increases the surface area of the foam for better conformity for reducing pressure points. The foam is zoned, being softer in the head and the heel of the mattress, places especially sensitive.
The
cover of the
SPS3080 is made of vinyl and nylon. The bottom and side of this mattress are 11-lb. tri-laminate vinyl. The top panel of 70 denier nylon fabric is vapor permeable, but also resistant to liquids. This allows the
mattress to breathe while keeping the foam core dry and the mattress easy to clean.
The
Invacare SPS3080 is 36" wide and 6" high. Optional 3" side rails bring it to 9" high (this option is not available in Canada).
The
SPS3080 is available through authorized dealers in the United States and Canada. It has a warranty of 5 years on the mattress and 1 year on the cover.
