iSeries Hybrid Sleep System
In early 2014,
mattress manufacturer
Serta updated its
iComfort and
iSeries lines. According to
Bedroom Magazine, "The updated collections were inspired by the company’s own consumer research." As part of the update,
Serta released its new
iSeries Hybrid Sleep Systems collection.
iComfort was conceived by
Serta as the
memory foam mattress line for this traditional manufacturer of
innerspring mattresses.
iSeries are hybrids, adding
coils to the
iComfort configuration of
foams. The coils now used are
Duet® Coils. These are dual pocket coils, a coil-in-coil design patented in 2010 by
Sealy.
About the revised
iSeries,
Serta says, "More gel. More coils. iSeries® is now redesigned with more innovations for 2014."
Several coils have been added to the support core, bringing the coil count to 1088 for Queen size. This is to increase support, making it more consistent for the whole body and increasing conformity for pressure relief. Surrounding this support core is
Serta's
BestEdge® 6 Foam Encasement for edge support.
More gel has also been added. Each model in the
iSeries Hybrid Sleep System features
Cool Action™
Dual Effects® Gel Memory Foam. This new
Serta memory foam is infused with two kinds of gel.
MicroSupport® gel and
MicroCool+™ gel. As the names imply, one gel is designed for support and the other for cooling. The overall proportion of gel in the memory foam is higher than in earlier versions. This new gel foam is also used in the new
iComfort mattresses.
iSeries Hybrid Sleep System has five models:
Approval Super Pillow Top,
Expression Firm,
Merit Super Pillow Top,
Vantage Firm, and
Vantage Plush.
Besides the
Cool Action™
Dual Effects® Gel Memory Foam and
Duet® Coil Individually Wrapped Coil-in-Coil Support System, other features found in one or more of the models are
Serta® PillowSoft™ Foam,
Serta® Support Foam,
Serta® Comfort XD™ Foam and
EverCool® Gfx Memory Foam.
The new
iSeries Hybrid Sleep System models are already available through several retailers, both online and in stores. All the models carry
Serta's 25-year warranty with the first 15 years non-prorated, last 10 years prorated.
