iSeries Profiles Collection
The
iSeries Profiles Collection is a product of
mattress manufacturer
Serta's updating of its
iComfort and
iSeries lines for 2014. This collection is a step above the other new
iSeries collection,
iSeries Hybrid Sleep System. What sets the
Profiles Collection apart from the
Hybrid Sleep System is the addition of the new
iComfort EverFeel™ Technology.

According to
Serta,
EverFeel™ Technology goes beyond memory foam, giving "cradling comfort" without the problems of memory foam. Time and temperature are not required for this foam to adapt itself to the sleeper's body.
As with the
iSeries Hybrid Sleep System, mattresses in the
iSeries Profiles Collection feature
Cool Action™
Dual Effects® Gel Memory Foam and the
Duet® Coil Individually Wrapped Coil-in-Coil Support System. Each of these provides conformity to a sleeper's body contours, though through different mechanisms.
Cool Action™
Dual Effects® Gel Memory Foam is a further development of
Serta's
Cool Action™ Gel Memory Foam. The earlier
memory foam was infused with
MicroSupport® gel to enhance the conformity of the foam. The
gel is distributed for more support to areas of the body which need it. To this the
Dual Effects® version adds
MicroCool+™ gel to carry heat away from the sleeping surface to dissipate.
Primary support for
Profiles mattresses relies on the
innerspring unit of
dual coils, called the
Duet® Coil Individually Wrapped Coil-in-Coil Support System. Each dual coil is two coils made from one wire, one inside the other. The taller outer coil has a soft initial response, while the inner coil provides deep support. Among the advantages are:
(1) The individual dual pocket coils act independently to conform to the body to reduce pressure points.
(2) The pocket coil configuration eliminates motion disturbance.
(3) The support of the dual coils is suitable for couples of greatly different body sizes/weights.
The
cotton-
polyester cover fabrics are quilted to
Pillo-Fill and
FireBlocker. Other materials used in
iSeries Profiles Collection mattresses, but not in every model, are
Serta® PillowSoft™ Foam,
Serta® Support Foam, and
EverCool® Gfx Memory Foam.
The recommended
foundations for
Profiles models are the
StabL-Base platform and
Motion Perfect adjustable base. All carry the
Serta 25-year limited warranty.
