The Kathy Ireland Collection by Therapedic is a proprietary product line, produced for the namesake business of Kathy Ireland. It is actually three collections in one: New Collection, Architectural and European Country. New Collection has four series (Wailokoloa Beach, City Harmony, Tranquility Luxury, Trianon Palace), each with three models (Plush, Firm, Pillow Top). Architectural has two series: Celebration (Firm, Plush, Euro Top) and Twilight (Gentle Firm, Plush, Pillowtop). European Country has one series, Porte De Jardin (Firm, Plush, Pillowtop), plus two more models, Renaissance Garden (Plush) and Fleur De Lys (Pillowtop).
All models in the Therapedic Kathy Ireland Collection are innerspring mattresses. Those in the New Collection have a coil count of 672 in Queen Size. The coil count for the rest is 650. The 7" high continuous coils, made of 13.5 gauge steel, are "resistance coils" which increase resistance as they compress. The coils are arranged into five zones, configuring the support levels to the weight and contours of sleepers' bodies.
In addition to the innerspring core, the mattresses also have the TherapedicHourGlass pad of zoned support for the shoulders, lumbar and hips. There is one pad for a twin size mattress. All other sizes have two HourGlass pads.
Firm polyurethane encasement provides perimeter support for the coil unit and edge support for the rest of the mattress. The polyfoam is 1.5" thick.
Above the innerspring unit of Kathy Ireland Collection mattresses is the interior padding. This consists of a layer of firm polyurethane foam which is configured into five density zones which correspond to the innerspring zones. Atop this is an insulator liner. The thickness and firmness of the foam layer differ according to the model.
Above the interior padding is the quilted cover. Two layers of foam and a layer of non-toxic flame retardant fiber are quilted to the stretch-knit cover fabric. The foam layers (mostly polyurethane) vary from model to model in thickness and firmness, thus determining the overall firmness level for the mattresses.
Pillowtop models in the Therapedic Kathy Ireland Collection have an additional core, the pillowtop. The pillowtop is made of two foam layers, one polyurethane and the other memory foam or latex. As in the other layers, the firmness of these foams varies according to the designed overall firmness of the mattress.
The foundation sold with mattresses in the Kathy Ireland Collection by Therapedic is a high profile, heavy duty, support unit using "Semi-Flex Technology." The edge support of this base is a 6 gauge border rod. The foundation is topped with an insulator pad to protect the mattress.
The warrantees for the Kathy Ireland Collection mattresses are 10 years full except for the top model which is 15 years. Models in this collection are listed by several online retailers. Some retailers give a brief description of the collection and suggest coming into thsir stores to see the mattresses.
