King Koil Posture Sense Response
Posture Sense Response is a sub-brand under the
King Koil USA brand of mattresses made by
King Koil. This is a hybrid mattress line, adding a foam comfort core to the
Balanced Support Coil System™ featured in
King Koil's flagship line
Posture Sense.
The
Balanced Support Coil System™ is also referred to by
King Koil as the
Contour Plus Encased Coil System. These are Marshall coils (named after their inventor), better known as pocketed coils. Coils are precompressed and enclosed in fabric pockets, and these pockets are attached to each other in an array. Since each coil responds independently, they conform to body contours, relieving pressure on places such as shoulders, elbows, hips and legs. First patented in 1900 in Canada, this technology is now widely used by mattress manufacturers around the world.
In
Posture Sense Response the coil count is 638. It is zoned for higher density (support) where needed. The designing of the
Contour Plus Encased Coil System was in cooperation with the International Chiropractors Association (ICA) to optimize orthopedic support for the spine.
The foam comfort section of the
King Koil Posture Sense Response mattresses features
King Koil's
Cool Cell Technology, the combining of gel and memory foam for conforming, support and cooling. This gel memory foam is also called
iFusion. Like pocket coils, gel memory foam is also now widely used. In
Posture Sense Response mattresses, the amount of
Cool Cell visco-memory foam varies by model.
Posture Sense Response mattresses have other foams besides
Cool Cell. Depending on model, these include
Super Soft Foam,
Ultra Soft Convoluted Foam, and
High Performance Super Soft Foam. The convoluted foam is also zoned to tailor support to the contours of the body.
Edge support for
King Koil Posture Sense Response is
Excellent Edge foam encasement. This stabilizes the mattress, makes the entire sleeping surface usable, and provides a sitting edge. Foam encasement is the most common edge support in mattresses today.
There are several model names for the
Posture Sense Response by
King Koil. Some retailers use names such as Highland, Celestial and Deville. Others use numbers, such as PSR 2000, or PSR 3000. Some list the specifications of various components, others use copies or varations of the manufacturer's website descriptions (which are not model specific), and one has a one-page brochure for each model it carries with no more than a diagram and only a symbol and title for each feature. If you are shopping for a
King Koil Posture Sense Response, this makes it difficult to compare the models.
Among the foundations sold with
Posture Sense Response mattresses by
King Koil are natural wood box springs (9" or 5") and adjustable bases. These models carry a 20-year warranty with the first 10 years non-prorated.
