The Lancaster Firm Mattress has the key features of the World Luxury Series by King Koil (also known as Comfort Solutions): moisture-wicking Hydra-Performa™ fibers, silk & wool blend cover fabric, Optimal Temperature sleeping surface, and an independently encased coil design with Excellent Edge™ foam encasement edge support. This is a firm mattress with a firmness level of 7 on a scale of 10. Called Deville by some retailers, the Lancaster is 14" high.
King Koil's Hydra-Performa™ Technology infuses the cover fabric with fibers that wick moisture away to keep the sleeping surface dry. The cover fabric itself is a blend of silk and wool for smoothness and breathablility. Wool is a temperature balancing material. Also, the cover is quilted to a Safeguard fire retardant pad.
Just beneath the cover is 1½" of AdvantaGel, a gel-infused resilient foam. While the foam is for cushioning, the gel is for cooling. This rests on a ½" layer of firm foam for additional support.
The next layer down is 2½" of cushion firm Perfect Contour convoluted foam. The convoluted top surface of the foam conforms to the body's contours, The pattern of the convolutions is configured into five zones to tailor the response to five areas of the body to optimize the response.
Primary support for the Lancaster Firm Mattress comes from the 1024 coil-count independently encased pocket coils. Also called Marshall coils after their inventor, pocket coils respond individually, conforming to the shape of the sleeper's body. This provides even support and reduces pressure points. They also keep the spine in line for side sleepers.
Around the coil support unit is a foam encasement, King Koil's Excellent Edge. This both holds the independent coils in place and provides edge support for the sleeping surface.
King Koil makes a foundation for the World Luxury Series models, including the Lancaster Firm. This is a fabric-covered wood-framed base. The Lancaster is also compatible with platform beds, European wood slats, and adjustable beds.
