The Montpellier is the second highest of nine models in the World Luxury Series by King Koil. The construction in the exploded view above is as follows:
Comfort Surface
The Hydra-Performa Technology uses fibers which are engineered to wick moisture from the sleeping surface. They also contain phase change materials (PCMs) to regulate surface temperature. PCMs liquify by absorbing heat when the temperature exceeds the desired range, and solidify by releasing heat when the temperature falls below the range.
The cover fabric is a blend of silk and wool. It is quilted to a Safeguard pad for flame resistance to meet federal fire safety standards.
The 1.5" Advantagel layer combines infused gel with highly resilient foam to have a balance of coolness and support.
Next is a 1" layer of firm foam which King Koil calls "high performance." This is for additional support and cushioning.
The 1" layer of GelResponse in the Montpellier is latex infused with gel beads. Latex is very resilient and conforming to provide pressure relief. The gel is for cooling and to modify the support.
The next 1" layer in the World Luxury Montpellier mattress is iFusion ViscoGel Foam. This is open-cell memory foam which has gel cells . The open cells and the gel are for cooling, while the memory foam is for contouring conformity.
The Enhanced ViscoPlus Memory Foam is claimed by King Koil to be more durable than ordinary memory foam. It is 1" high.
The Cushion Firm Perfect Contour Convoluted Foam is 2.5" high. The contouring is in five zones to tailor the support to different areas of the body.
The main support for the World Luxury Montpellier is an Encased Coil system. These pocket coils with a coil count of 1024 are designed to conform to the body's curves for more evenly distributed support. Pocket coils also reduce motion transfer. Around this unit is the foam encasement Excellent Edge support.
All the layers in the King Koil World Luxury Montpellier are held in place by tufting. This handcrafted feature keeps the layers in vertical alignment for steady, reliable support. This helps the mattress to last longer, and also cuts down body impressions.
World Luxury Collection mattresses work well with several foundations, King Koil makes an upholstered wood-framed foundation. Other acceptable foundations are European wood slats, platform beds, box springs and adjustable beds.
The 15" high World Luxury Montpellier carries King Koil's 10 year non-prorated warranty against defects in manufacturing and materials
