World Luxury Series
King Koil, a top 10 manufacturer of mattresses, unveiled its
World Luxury series with 10 models at the Winter 2014 Las Vegas World Market.
World Luxury is designed to be an affordable luxury line.
King Koil describes it as "The look and feel of a $5000 mattress starting as low as $799." It is further tagged, "Coming soon to a dealer near you."
King Koil lists these key features for the
World Luxury series: Moisture Wicking Technology (
Hydra-Performa™ fibers), Breathable Comfort Surface (silk &
wool blend), Optimal Temperature Sleeping Surface (
gel infusion and resilient
foam), Responsive Cooling Comfort (
GelResponse™ latex), Enhanced Pressure Relief (
iFusion™ Technology - open cell + gel), and Ultimate Conforming Support (independently encased
coils and
Excellent Edge™). Some of the features are not on all models.
World Luxury is a line of encased pocket coils
mattresses. Also known as "Marshall coils," pocket coils rival
memory foam in conformability, but without getting too warm for comfort. The coil count of a
World Luxury mattress depends on the model. Prices vary according to the coil count as well as the materials in the comfort layers.
A variety of materials are in the comfort layers and tops of the
King Koil World Luxury series. Comfort materials in a mattress may be
latex,
memory foam, polyfoams, and gel-infused versions of these. Topside constructions include Eurotop, pillowtop and plushtop.
The
covers of mattresses in the
World Luxury series have phase change materials (PCMs) for temperature regulation. PCMs change their physical state when the temperature is outside a specified temperature range, absorbing heat when it is too warm and releasing it when too cool. The covers also utilize 3-D fabrics.
With the introduction of
World Luxury,
King Koil is banking on an apparent trend—consumers returning to innerspring mattresses after a decade of specialty (non-spring) bedding. Contributing to this trend may be dissatisfaction with some characteristics of foams (especially memory foam) and the conformability of encased pocket coils coupled with the generally higher costs of all-foam mattresses.

King Koil World Luxury series has nine models:

Lancaster Firm,
Kensington Plush,
Devonshire Plush Euro Top,
Barcelona Cushion Firm,
Windsor Luxury Plush,
Kingsbury Plush Euro Top,
Montpellier Luxury Firm, and
Palermo Plush Euro Top. Some retailers have alternate names for these models.
Coupled with the introduction of new mattress lines,
King Koil is also revising its warranty periods. Now most models will be warranted for 10 years, the lowest lines/models for 5 years, premium-level models and the
Extended Life collection for 20.
