The Kingsdown Kids Collection by Mebane, North Carolina. mattress manufacturer Kingsdown is designed to provide the younger members of a family with quality sleeping support. Though made for children, the age range extends into adulthood with sizes from Twin to King. These models are designed to help children and youth get the sleep they need.
This mattress grouping has ten models. These are paired, with five of the models with pink covers, and five with blue. One pair is 9" high, two pairs 11" high, and two pairs 13½" high. Each model has its own name. The Pink models are Dream Land, Dream Nite, Little One, Slumber Kidz, and Sleep Time. The Blue models are Kidz Nite, Mr. Sandman, Sweet Asleep, Play Date, and Playtime.
Six of the mattresses are Plush, and four are Firm. These are innerspring mattresses. The four highest models have pocket coils. All the mattresses in this collection have Kingsdown's Full Body Surround® Edge Support.
Dream Land and Kidz Nite are 9" high are plush. The 11" high Dream Nite and Mr. Sandman are Plush. The other 11" pair, Little One and Sweet Asleep, are Firm.
Slumber Kidz, Play Date, Sleep Time and Playtime are all 13½" high and have a "Support Level" of wrapped (pocket) coils. Playtime is Firm, while the others are Plush.
According to Kingsdown, the foam in all of the Kids Collection mattresses is layered. This facilitates the Kingsdown concept of vertical zoning. In this configuration, each layer reacts to the one above it to customize the support for the individual sleeper. It also helps in finely tuning the overall support of the mattress. The foam is not specified, which makes it probable that it is polyurethane foam, a very versatile material available in many densities, firmness levels and other properties.
Each of these models, if bought as a set, has a wood foundation which is upholstered to match the mattress. These are available in both Standard and Low Profile heights. According to some retailers, these are "motion base" compatible.
All Kids Collection mattesses carry Kingsdown's 10-year manfacturers warranty.
