The Kingsdown Passions Collection of 18 models is intended to offer mattresses which are both highly performing and value priced, which Kingsdown perceived as being an underserved segment of the bedding market. The Passions Collection, first introduced in mid-2012, has been expanded. The new lineup was unveiled at both the Las Vegas and Tupelo furniture shows in Summer 2013. Some of the models—such as Somerset, Branston, Atworth, Dudley, Destinee, Elegance and Palisade—are already available at online retailers and in some retail showrooms. The Somerset is described as the top model of the Passions Collection.
As to the "Passions" name, one writer cited a Kingsdown ad where this referred to a "passion to sleep." Thus, the goal of Passions Collection mattresses is to help users to sleep better.
According the the Sleep to Live Institute, a Kingsdown affiliate, "Kingsdown’s Passions Collection line is a great example of 'hybrid' mattresses. Blending an upgraded, tri-zoned wrapped coil system with gel infused memory foams, Kingsdown Passions Collection combines great support and comfort." The STLI article goes on to explain that the tri-zoned system uses coils with smaller diameters in certain critical zones needing special support, such as under the hips, in order to provide greater coil density in these areas. These are the features of the collection as listed by Sleep To Live:

The 18 innerspring mattresses in the Kingsdown Passion Collection vary in height, as can be expected. The Somerset is 14", which with a 9" foundation brings total height to 23". Some mattresses, such as Destinee, are 15", while others are lower. Some of the models come with a choice of firmness levels. For instance, the Atworth is available in Pillowtop (Extra Plush), Plush or Firm.
