Lady Americana, located in Oklahoma City, currently shows two of its lines as being Ultra Plush, the Bronze Super Pillow-Top and the Silver Super Pillow-Top. These differ in the way the innersprings are encased and the thicknesses and types of foam in the comfort layer. Mathis Brothers, which carries Lady Americana mattresses, has several models which could be rated as "ultra plush," but are called "soft."
Common to Lady Americana mattresses are the Ameri-Spring® innerspring unit with the Ameri-Guard® support system. All the Ameri-Spring® coils in a row are fromed from one strand of wire to continuously and progressively transfer energy, supporting a sleeper with all the coils in that row. Within this configuration, the coils interlock, alternate left-handed and right-handed rotation, and isolate the movements of individual sleepers. Overall, the Ameri-Spring® coil support unit is designed to reduce the discomfort of pressure points and minimize sideways motion.
The coil unit in the Lady Americana mattresses is stabilized by the Ameri-Guard® system. Lady Americana says, "Ameri-Guard® locks the unit in place to minimize any movement or sway. This adds tremendous durability to the padding that is attached to the unit."
The ultra plushness of these Lady Americana mattresses is provided by the depth and composition of the comfort layers and the covers. The Bronze Super Pillow-Top features a cover of natural cashmere fabric over 5 inches of Super-Soft foam. The Silver Super Pillow-Top has 3 inches of visco-elastic memory foam under a Coolmax cover.
According to Lady Americana, their Cool Touch Visco Memory Foam in the Silver Super Pillow-Top has an open-cell structure and is sensitive to the weight and heat of the user's body, causing it to conform to the body-shape of a sleeper. This is to work with the coil configuration in relieving pressure points.
The mattress ticking is made of naturally anti-fungal and moisture-wicking bamboo fibers. This helps the mattresses to be non-allergenic as well as keeping a sleeper cool and dry.
As to those Lady Americana mattress models sold by Mathis Brothers, some of the names of those which may be Ultra Plush are Eminence, Sapphire and Diamond. U.S. Beds sells an ultra plush Lady Americana model called Preston. The 16" high Eminence utilizes a 704 Individually Encased Coil Unit and has four foam layers. It carries a 25 year non-prorated warranty. The Sapphire and the Diamond have a 312 Bonnell Coil System. Their comfort systems are simply described as "soft."
And U.S. Beds describes the Preston's coil system as "Diamond made, individually wrapped coils," which makes it appear to be like the Mathis Brothers" Diamond model.
Lady American ultra plush mattresses are also offered by other retailers under other model names.
The mattress that I purchased was a very good buy for the money. My mattress is a full size and is extra plush which all the other mattresses that I saw at Sleep Country and other stores couldn't compete with the price. I'm very happy that I went to Hometown Mattress. I was leery at first because the mattress may not be a brand name that most people recognize. Though I've had it for over three years and it has survived in pretty good shape so far. I would recommend both the store and the mattress.
