The highest latex mattress model by Latexpedic (a subsidiary of Electropedic Beds) is The Ultimate. The 11" high two-sided mattress has three layers, the 6" support core with a 2" comfort layer on each side and covered top and bottom with quilting. Each foam layer is made of Talalay latex made by Latex International.
As with the other all-latex mattresses by Latexpedic, The Ultimate offers a choice of firmness levels and a choice of latex composition.
The firmnesses available are Ultra Firm, Extra Firm, Regular Firm and Soft (Plush). This is determined by the firmness of the core and of the comfort layers. For Soft, the core has a 28 ILD and the comfort layer 19. In Regular Firm these are 32 and 19. It is 36+24 for Extra Firm and 44+28 for Ultra Firm.
The latex foam in The Ultimate by Latexpedic can be classic, natural or organic latex. Classic is a blend of synthetic and natural latex. Natural latex is made of 100% rubber tree sap, and organic latex is natural latex certified as meeting certain specifications.
The support core of The Ultimate is bonded to the comfort layers. Before this, the latex layers are tested for their ILD. After the layers are bonded, they are covered in fabric.
The top and bottom of the cover on The Ultimate are channel quilted natural cotton and wool. The wool serves as a fire retardant, meeting federal flammability standards without harmful chemicals.
The Ultimate carries the Electropedic/Latexpedic 20-year limited warranty. Available through Electropedic retailers, it is also in Electropedic Beds showrooms in California and Arizona.
