Magniflex Dualcomfort Magnifico
The
Dualcomfort Magnifico by
Magniflex could be called the "Mattress for all seasons." The
cover is made of
Magniflex's
Argento fabric, which has silver fibers. On the
Magnifico, the cover is reversible with cashmere padding on one side, and
silk on the other. The cashmere side is for keeping the user warmer in winter, the silk side cooler in summer.
The silver fiber itself has several benefits. Silver is anti-microbial and anti-static because of its ions. Silver ions interfere with bacterial proteins. The ions also make the fibers conductive, dissipating static before it can build up. Additionally, silver conducts heat, thereby regulating temperature (usually to cool). These fibers also wick moisture away from the sleeping surface.
"Dual comfort" mattresses, such as the
Magniflex Dualcomfort Magnifico are really two
matresses side-by-side in one. Each side can be configured for one side firmer, the other softer. This provides individual support for a couple with different needs.
The two sides of the
Magniflex Dualcomfort Magnifico memory foam mattress share the same order of materials, a base padding of
Memoform Magnifoam, a support layer of
Eliform, and a comfort layer of
Memoform Magnifoam. Each of these is itself configured into three zones for different levels of support for areas of the body.
The construction of the
Magniflex Dualcomfort Magnifico is:
1 - Winter side: cashmere padding and hypoallergenic, breathable fibre
Summer side: silk padding and hypoallergenic, breathable fibre
2 - Insulating sheet in
cotton mix
3 - 3 zone Memoform Magnifoam Airyform layer
4 - 3 zone Elioform Airyform layer
5 - 3 zone Memoform Magnifoam Airyform layer
Elioform is a support foam developed by Magniflex. It combines two kinds of
polyester - one for firmness, the other for strength - with a cellular structure which makes it breathable and hygienic. Its firmness can be determined in processing, so a different firmness level can be selected for the 6" Eliofoam support core of each side of the
Dualcomfort Magnifico.
Between the support cores and the comfort layers of the
Dualcomfort Magnifico is an insulating sheet which is padded with a cotton mix.
Memoform Magnifoam, a proprietary version of memory foam, is used for the comfort layers in the
Magniflex Dualcomfort Magnifico. Like
Elioform, its firmness is determined in processing. In the
Magnifico, it is twice as high (4") on the softer side than on the firmer side (2").
The
Magniflex Dualcomfort Magnifico is made in Italy, vacuum packed, and shipped to the customer. The vacuum packing of its mattresses was developed by
Magniflex for hygenic reasons, to prevent contamination in handling. It carries a 20-year warranty: 10 non-prorated, 10 prorated. Since it is a foam mattresses, it needs a
foundation providing enough support, such as a
platform,
European-style wood slats, or an
adjustable bed.
