Magniflex Linen Experience Deluxe

Until recently, Italian luxury mattress manufacturer Magniflex listed its Organic Linen Mattress and Pillow Collection, which includes the Linen Experience model, a linen-covered memory foam mattress. Other linen-covered models are Linen Biosoft Deluxe, Linen Natursoft Deluxe. These are still available through a few retailers in the United States.

The highlighted feature of the 9" high Linen Experience is the cover made of organic linen fabric. Linen has been known since ancient times for its coolness, and it has been considered a luxury material. Not only does Magniflex use linen for the covers of this line, but another collection uses linen as padding on the Summer side (that model is flipable), because of linen's cooling properties. The cover is described as "exceptionally soft and absorbent" as well as durable. It is removable and dry cleanable.

The Linen Experience is a dual comfort mattress. It is flipable, soft (very plush) on one side, firm on the other (some retailers only list the "super plush" comfort level). This dual comfort is determined by fiber padding between the top/bottom cover panels and the memory foam core. The fiber padding is breathable, and also hypoallegenic. It is tufted/quilted to the linen cover fabric in a "Diamond shaped [pattern that] stimulates and massages which aids in blood ciculation" (see illustration above).

The core of the Linen Experience Deluxe is Magniflex's own EcoGreen memory foam. Unlike most memory foams, this foam has a water base, not an oil base. And the key contributing ingredients are soy and aloe vera, not petroleum. Two key results are (1) it does not (according to Magniflex) accumulate heat, and (2) it does not have the petro-oil odors. This foam is Oeko-Tex certified as being free of volatile organic compounds.


This foam is textured on the surface and channel-cut in 7 zones to tailor support for areas of the body: head, shoulders, torso, hips, legs, knees, feet. This channel-cutting also promote air circulation for cooling.

The Linen Experience Deluxe carries Magniflex's 20-year manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials or manufacturing. It is available through a number of retailers in the United States and Canada.
