Magnigel 9

Magnigel 9 is the entry level model in the Magnigel Collection of memory foam mattresses by the Italian manufacturer Magniflex. There are two other models, Magnigel Deluxe Dual 12 and Magnigel Dual 10.

Mattresses in this collection feature Magnigel, a gel foam. Magnigel 9 has a 1" layer of Magnigel foam. This foam combines the properties of gel with those of memory foam. The gel resists crushing and conducts heat away from the surface. At the same time, this foam conforms to the sleeper to relieve pressure points.

The Magnigel 9 has a 7" Eliosoft support core. Eliosoft is the softer version of Magnifoam, Magniflex's support foam with a high-density microcellular structure. The firmer version is Elioform.

Atop the Eliosoft is 1" of Memoform, the Magniflex version of memory foam with an open-cell high-density configuration. Being memory foam, it adjusts itself to the shape and weight of a sleeper's body to relieve pressure and to keep the spine straight (especially important for side sleepers). The Magnigel is immediately above the Memoform.

The cover of the Magnigel 9 is stretch-knit viscose fabric. Also known as rayon, viscose is liquified cellulose extracted from wood. It has a silky feel and is durable. It also is hypoallergenic and breathable. The fabric on the border (sides) is configured in a 3-dimensional pattern for extra breathability and humidity reduction.

The Magniflex Magnigel 9 memory foam mattress works well with platform beds. Other compatible foundations include European wood slats and adjustable beds.

Magnigel 9 is available through many retailers in the United States and Canada. Some of them add the name AriaGel to the model. The Magniflex warranty is for 20 years, though one retailer lists it as 12 years.
