Monogram Gel Memory Foam
Monogram is the Gel Memory Foam collection introduced by
Stearns & Foster in January 2013,
S&F's first non-innerspring collection. As of this writing,
Monogram has three models:
Primera,
Annalise and
Infinia.
Stearns & Foster Monogram mattresses have the same order of three foam layers consisting of
ClimaLux™,
UltraSense™ and
InfiniLux®. These are designed for a graduation of support and comfort. According to
Stearns & Foster, the consumer has a choice of four comfort levels: Firm, Cushion Firm, Plush, and Ultra Plush.
Primera is designed primarily for pressure relief,
Annalise for an even range of temperature, and
Infinia
for support.
The 2" top layer is
ClimaLux,
S&F's gel memory foam fused with
Outlast®, a material widely used to control temperatures, keeping them within a specified range.
S&F introduces the gel into the memory foam as a liquid, which means it is distributed evenly throughout the foam.
Outlast® contains
Phase Change Materials (
PCMs). These change their physical state in response to temperature outside of a desired range. When the material is hotter than the upper limit, it liquifies by absorbing the heat. When the temperature falls below the lower limit,
PCMs solidify by releasing heat. The types and proportions of
PCMs in the
Outlast determine the temperature range. So while the
ClimaLux gel memory foam is cradling the sleeper by conforming to the body's shape, it also cools or warms the sleeper as needed.
The principal distinction in the construction of these three
Monogram models is the depth of the middle
UltraSense layer.
UltraSense™ is
Stearns & Foster's memory foam. Its primary function is pressure relief. This memory foam responds to the heat and weight of the sleeper, conforming to body contours, distributing support evenly across the entire body. This relieves pressure on parts of the body which would otherwise bear the burden of support. The effect is to reduce pressure points.
UltraSense also dampens motion transfer, which is to lessen or eliminate partner disturbance. The depth of the
UltraSense layer is 3" in
Primera, 4" in
Annalise, and 5" in
Infinia.
The base support of
Stearns & Foster Monogram mattresses is the 6"
UltraCore™ layer of
InfiniLux®. This is a high density support foam, supportive enough to take the place of innersprings.
A banner feature of the
Monogram Gel Memory Foam collection by
Stearns & Foster is the cover. It combines cashmere and silk, promising softness and smoothness combined with breathablility. This luxury feel is intended to yield luxury appeal in the marketplace.
Monogram mattresses come with a foundation (box spring) designed by
Stearns & Foster to provide the needed wupport for memory foem mattresses. The are available in a 9" standard height or 5" low profile. These mattresses are also compatible with adjustable beds.
Models in this collection are covered by a 25-year warranty: 10 years full coverage plus 15 years prorated. As with other
Stearns & Foster mattresses, models in the
Monogram Gel Memory Foam collection are found at retailers across the country, on site and online.
