Nature's Sleep
St. Cloud Luxe Memory Foam Mattress

The St. Cloud Luxe is one of five 12" high memory foam mattresses by bedding firm Nature's Sleep. The other four are Cayman, St. Lucia, Glacier, and Sapphire. It is also one of four Nature's Sleep models without gel, the other three being St. Lucia, St. Barts and the Sofa Bed Sleeper Mattress. Nature's Sleep calls it the "plushest, softest, most luxurious mattress in our line." They go on to say this mattress is the ideal one "for those that suffer from illnesses that cause sleeplessness."

The signal feature of the St. Cloud Luxe is its two memory foams: ViTex Memory Foam and Advanced Visco Technology Memory Foam. These have an extended open-cell configuration, allowing more air to filter through the memory foam. The ViTex is used in Nature's Sleep pillows. Nature's Sleep lays claim to having "greener" memory foam than most manufacturers by the ingredients used in making their foam.

The purpose of the memory foam is pressure relief. It was first developed for use in astronauts' seating for lift-off with the large G-forces, then was redeveloped by Tempur-Pedic for consumer use. Memory foam spreads support evenly across the whole body by conforming to contours. This relieves pressure on larger body parts while adequately supporting those between.

The velour cover of an 80% cotton blend is embossed with a waterfall pattern with decorative cording and side panels of microsuede. It is anti-microbial and anti-allergenic. Zippered, it is removable and washable.

Primary support in the St. Cloud Luxe Memory Foam Mattress lies in the 6" high support core. This high-density polyurethane foam supports the mattress and the sleeper(s). Like all Nature's Sleep foams, this support foam is approved by CertiPUR-US.

Above the suppport core are three comfort layers. The first one is "pressure relieving foam." the second is the Advanced Visco Technology Memory Foam, and the top layer is the ViTex memory foam. Altogether, these foams make this a plush mattress.

The four foundations sold by Nature's Sleep are of kinds recommended for memory foam mattresses, such as the St. Cloud Luxe. The first is a wooden platform with woven slats, the KD Foundation. The other three are adjustable beds. European wood slats are also suitable, but old-fashioned box springs are not.

The St. Cloud Luxe Memory Foam Mattress comes with a 20-year limited warranty from Nature's Sleep.
