The Comfort Support Collection by Northwest Bedding is a small collection with only three models. No fancy names for these mattresses; just simply Comfort Support Pillow Top, Comfort Support Plush, and Comfort Support Firm.
Support for innerspring mattresses in the Comfort Support Collection relies on offset coils, more specifically the InnerAct Alternating Coil Technology spring system by HSM Solutions (formerly Hickory Springs Manufacturing). The coils in this system alternate in the direction of thier rotation–right-handed then left-handed, etc.–in each row of coils. This keeps the springs from all tending to bend one direction when weight is put on them, meaning the support is even.
This innerspring is foam encased. Northwest Bedding's BioFlex foam is very firm. In most of their specialty sleep mattresses, the support core is made of BioFlex. This support foam encircles the perimeter of the coil unit and undergirds the bottom. This both protects the coils and serves as edge support for the top of the mattress. In the Comfort Support Firm, it is called StableBase™ BioFlex™ and has an ILD of 55.
Differentiation of the three models is primarily in the comfort layers. All have two inches of NWB's CushionFlex foam above the innerspring. In the Firm this foam is firm, and in the Plush and the Pillow Top it is soft. To this Comfort Support Pillow Top adds the top section with more soft CushionFlex. It is not hard to see how this determines the overall firmness of each mattress model.
The cover fabric of mattresses in the Comfort Support Collection is called "designer stretch knit." Although not specified, the above photo seems to indicate that it is a damask (with a knitted-in design). However, it could be printed. This cover fabric is quilted to fire resistant fiber and quilting foam (firm in Comfort Support Firm and soft in the other two models). Northwest Bedding says this foam is "plant-based." In Comfort Support Pillowtop and Comfort Support Plush, the cover is tack quilted. In the Comfort Support Firm it is channel quilted.
Bases (foundations) framed with North American forest wood are provided for Comfort Support Collection mattresses. As can be seen in the photos, these bases are upholstered to match the sides of the mattresses. These mattresses can also be used on platform beds and adjustable beds.
Comfort Support Collection mattresses are sold by Northwest Bedding in their Spokane area showrooms and online. They are also available through retailers carrying NWB products throughout the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana). The warranty is not stated on the description pages for this collection, but it is for 10 years non-prorated.
