Elite Latex Collection

The Elite Latex Collection of mattresses by Northwest Bedding in Spokane, Washington was previously named the Spokane Collection. Its three models are named after features of the city. City Lights is a reference to the after-dark City Lights tour. Parkview to the numerous parks in the "Lilac City" and how they can be seen from several neighborhoods. And Duncan Garden, formerly called the Sunken Garden, in Manito Park is named after Spokane's second Park Superintendent.

The three Northwest Bedding Elite Latex models are latex mattresses. Not just latex comfort layers on a polyurethane support core, these mattresses are Talalay latex down to the core. Latex support cores are more durable than polyurethane foam. And Talalay latex is more breathable, Northwest Bedding describes this as rubber-walled bubbles, millions of miniscule rubber balls.

The latex in Elite Latex mattresses is ventilated with hundreds of vertical pores. Besides making the foam more breathable, this makes it more flexible. The effect of this is seen in more pressure relief and more motion isolation, advantages of Talalay latex wherever it is used. The reason it is not used in more mattresses than polyurethane and memory foam is the cost.

The three current Elite Latex models, in order of height and price, are City Lights (14"), Parkview (13") and Duncan Garden (11"). The comfort layers of these mattresses include Talalay latex, softer than that in the support core. These layers vary in firmness from medium firm to soft, combining to produce the designed overall comfort level for each model.

The covers of Elite Latex Collection mattresses feature a knit fabric top panel combining moisture-wicking Tencel with cotton. This is quilted to plant-based ComfortFlex support level foam, a fire resistant fiber, and batting of Joma wool. This is a breathable top surface. Wool is also moisture-wicking, designed to work with the Tencel for a dry sleeping surface.

Elite Latex mattresses are compatible with foundations (or divans) such as platform beds, wood slat bases (closely spaced), and adjustable beds. As to box springs, the old coil types are not suitable, but newer advanced-design types, such as Semi-Flex (by Leggett & Platt), are acceptable.

Elite Latex Collection mattresses are found in Northwest Bedding stores in the Spokane area, as well as in bedding and furniture stores throughout the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana). They are covered by a 20/10 warranty.
