Hospitality Collection

Northwest Bedding's 5-Star Collection is now the Hospitality Collection. The mattresses in this collection are designed for use in hotels, motels, resorts, bed & breakfast homes, etc. Here is how Northwest Bedding (NWB) describes the collection:

Whether it is a 3-star, 4-star or 5-star hotel or motel, we have worked for many years with hospitality property owners and management groups to design a collection of mattresses suitable for their own particular use and consistent with the expectations of their guests. Products in this collection range from firm to ultra luxurious.

There are four models listed in the Hospitality Collection. The first two were designed especially for the named hostelries. The collection was originally named for the remaining two models. These four models are The Bed at Northern Quest Resort and Casino, Coeur d'Alene Resort Memory Plush, 5-Star Pillowtop, and 5-Star Plush Firm. These are listed in order of price.

All models in the Hospitality Collection are innerspring mattresses with pocket coils or offset coils made by HSM Solutions. The 5-Star models have the 504 ProAct innerspring units, the Coeur d'Alene has InnerAct (LFK) units, and Northern Quest has pocket coils. In each of the offset coil units, the open-end coils alternate in each row between right-hand and left-hand turns, so the unit as a whole does not tend to lean to one side or the other. They are also aligned longitudinally to prevent roll-together.

Other materials used in Hospitality Collection mattresses are Talalay latex, memory foam, and NWB's foams: BioFlex, CushionFlex, and StratoFlex.

The highest model in the Hospitality Collection by Northwest Bedding is The Bed at Northern Quest Resort and Casino. About 13" high, this one-sided pillowtop mattress features an innerspring unit of individually wrapped pocket coils encased in NWB's BioFlex foam. The coils are zoned for more support in key body areas. The foam encasement keeps the coils quiet while holding them in place. It also serves as edge support.

Chiro Coils

Comfort layers in the Northern Quest mattresses include resislient Talalay latex and NWB's soft CushionFlex foam.

The cover is designer fabric (stretch knit). It is quilted to a fire barrier (to meet federal standards) and CushionFlex.

The Coeur d'Alene Resort Memory Plush is about 12½" high. Support in this tight-top mattress depends on an InnerAct offset coil innerspring unit. HSM designed the alternating offset innerspring to maximize the number of coils in the unit. The coils are about 5⅝" high.

The coil unit in the Coeur d'Alene is encased around the sides and on the bottom with extra firm BioFlex. The BioFlex provides edge support to the sleeping surface while keeping the flexing of the coils quiet..

Comfort layers in the Coeur d'Alene Resort Memory Plush consist of BioFlex, CushionFlex and memory foam. The cover is an imported damask fabric which is tack-quilted to convoluted CushionFlex and StratoFlex foam (plant-based).

Northwest Bedding attaches turn labels to the Coeur d'Alene to remind housekeeping staff to rotate the mattress regularly.

The two 5-Star models, the Pillowtop and the Plush Firm, are two-sided. Many hotels choose the Pillowtop. Plush Firm is the less expensive alternative.

Both 5-Star mattresses have a 504 ProAct innerspring unit of free-end offset coils. The U-Guard perimeter support of the coil unit also serves as edge support for the sleeping surface. The innerspring units are covered top and bottom with BioFlex.

The 5-Star Pillowtop has additional BioFlex on each side of the coil unit for comfort cushioning. Each pillow top consists of the stretch-knit fabric continuously quilted to a fire barrier and two layers of foam, one firm and one plush. Like the Coeur d'Alene, the 5-Star Pillowtop has quarterly turn labels.

Northwest Bedding says that the 5-Star Plush Firm is their "most highly placed two-sided mattress set." It is also the least expensive. It is a tight-top mattress. The BioFlex comfort layer is convoluted, and the knit fabric in the cover is continuous quilted to soft CushionFlex and the fire resistant layer.

Mattresses in the Northwest Bedding Hospitality Collection are found in several hotel-motel and resort businesses in the Pacific Northwest.
