Omaha Bedding Berkshire Collection
The Berkshire Collection by
Omaha Bedding includes mattresses made exclusively for
Nebraska Furniture Market (a Berkshire Hathaway company), including the
Warren models named after Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett. It also includes the
T446 Luxury Hotel mattress made for
Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. The lines between collections for Omaha Bedding are not perfectly clear; the Berkshire Collection has some overlap with the
Master Sleep Series.
Most of the mattresses in the Omaha Bedding Berkshire Collection rely on innersprings composed of VertiCoil pocketed coils made by Leggett & Platt, sometimes described as "Active Support Technology," and often foam-encased. The descriptions of one of the models, the
Regal Posture, makes no mention of foam in the comfort layers, though the coils are foam-encased. It is one-sided and not flippable.
Most of the Berkshire Collection innerspring models have foam comfort layers. The
Regent series uses visco memory foam. The
Ultra Rest mattresses have "5/0 Ultra Rest Firm Foam," and the
Imperial Royalty series uses "5/0 Imperial Royalty foam," the Jr Health Rest has "5/0 Jr Health Rest foam," and the
Pennant mattress uses what is called "5/0 Pennant Foam." The use of "5/0" leads this reviewer to suspect these 5/0 foams may be the same. One mattress, the
Chiro Posture (which is not a NFM exclusive), has latex foam as well as cotton comfort layers.
Of the two "Warren" models, the
Warren Gel Pillow Top has "Zoned Recipro-Coils," with a coil count of 805, and gel-infused memory foam in the pillowtop. The
Warren Visco Latex Hybrid Mattress is layered with 1" of latex, 3" of memory foam, and 7" of HD support foam.
Two of the series,
Essense and
Ultra Rest, use "Steele Edge Guards" to support the edge of the mattress, while the others use Foam Encased Edge Support.
