OrganicPedic Cascade
The OrganicPedic Cascade by Organic Mattresses, Inc. (OMI) is a two-sided latex mattress, which means it is flipable: either side can be used for the sleeping surface. In the case of the Cascade, one side is sculpted and the other smooth, so it is a choice of which surface is preferred for sleeping.

The Dunlop natural latex core of the OrganicPedic Cascade is 7" thick, and the knit organic cotton cover fabric is quilted with untreated EcoWool, bringing it to about 8" high overall. This mattress is for persons who like lower profile beds. The firmness level of this mattress is firm, and is suitable for both back and side sleepers.

The cotton in the cover fabric is raised in the USA without chemical pesticides or herbicides, and is therefore certified as completely organic. And the EcoWool is from sheep raised by medium-to-small farms/ranches without hormones. The wool itself is not chemically treated, so it too is organic. And the Dunlop latex in the core is made from USDA-certified natural rubber tree sap. All of the components are assembled in a certified chemical-free factory.

The wool in the quilted cover is to provide several advantages. First, wool is a cushioning, padding material, adding softness and comfort to the core's firmness. Wool is also breathable, which helps keep the surface fresh and allows cooling air to circulate. Then, wool wicks away moisture, keeping the sleeping surface dry. Wool also acts as a temperature regulator/insulator. Finally, wool is naturally flame resistant. This way, the OrganicPedic Cascade can meet federal flammability standards without using toxic chemicals.

The recommended base for the OrganicPedic Cascade is the OMI wood slat foundation. the wood slats flex under the mattress and the weight of the sleepers, taking the place of springs, but without metal ends to come loose and poke through. They are also quieter. Besides, wood is a renewal resource. This foundation has organic cotton padding, which protects the mattress and reduces slippage.

The OMI OrganicPedic Cascade mattress carries a 20-year limited warranty. It is available through several retailers across the US and Canada.
