Ortho Avant GX Firm & GX Plush
The
Ortho Avant GX Firm and
Ortho Avant GX Plush are the two models of the
Avant GX series by
Ortho Mattress, Inc. (O-M). The signature feature of this series is "Prescription Gel Foam." This gel, which is used for its cooling properties, is the top layer of these mattresses.
As with other
Ortho Avant models, the
GX Firm and
GX Plush are memory form mattresses. The
GX models have multiples layers of low emission memory foam. Memory foam is used to reduce pressure points, such as at the hips, shoulders and elbows, by conforming to the body contours of the sleepers.
The characteristics of these memory foams are combined to make one mattress firm and the other plush. The
Ortho Avant GX Firm has a layer of gel-infused memory foam, which tempers the conformity of the memory foam with cushiony support while also enhancing the gel cooling effect. Both models share the same price, so cost is not a consideration is choosing between the
GX Firm and
GX Plush.
The covers of the
GX models are simply described as "Unquilted." They are both "Platform friendly" and "Adjustable ready." O-M sells both wood platforms of various heights and adjustable beds.
The
Ortho Avant GX Firm and
Ortho Avant GX Plush mattresses hold 25-year warranties. They are factory direct, meaning that they are delivered to the customer directly from the
Ortho Mattress affiliate's factory.
